Johnson Central 50 Conner 12

Lets not make it sound like Conner was the only one with questionable calls. There were questionable calls each way. Even as a JC fan, I didnt like the fact that the officals were late with pre snap or early snap calls like illegal motion, which Conner had its first TD taken away by, but its not as if JC had all the calls there way. Conner did recieve a 15 yd penalty that give them a first down that was just a 5 yd infraction.

But we can agree that Conner is a team on the rise.

Conner is always a team on the rise but just can't clear the top of the hill.

I want to say thank you to the folks at JC last night. Very cordial and you will have a nice stadium when it is completed. Conner had some problems last night but I see where they can grow become a team that surprises people this year. JC has some very good kids. The quaterback, runningback and number 44 were heads above the rest. I think it will be interesting to see how the matchup of JC and Highlands will do in the playoffs at state....JC's size and strength against Highlands speed.

:sssh:

I thought that JC looked a bit sloppy tonight myself. The managed the game well and the JC defense was good enough to overcome the poor field position due to the lack of a solid kicking game. The JC pass coverage was a bit suspect at times I thought. Majority of the time I thought they were in the right place, just didnt play the ball well. I see lots of room of improvement for this group of Eagles, but it is week 2 so there is alot of time to get the kinks worked out. Good game out of Grimm as usual and Ratliff was on target with nearly all his passes but some where dropped by the recievers.

I agree Alumni 76 glad this was week 2 and they do have time to improve. They didn't have any fire about them, There were some giving it all but others just looking at the crowd... Better get there heads on if they wanna show everyone what there made of...

Also I saw or noticed that there were multiple players... Grim, Welch, Chase, Dials, playing both sides of the ball until the JV came in... If JC has the big numbers why are these guys playing everydown????

Who does JC play this season?

who does JC play this season?

JC's remaining games are Bryan Station, Wheelersburg OH, Woodford Co., Paintsville, Lou. Central, Montgomery Co., Ashland, and Belfry.

What region were the officials from?

It sounds to me the infraction some a referring was +11 on the field. Yes, by rule this is a 15 yarder but if the officials could have flagged it prior to the snap or at the snap, it would be a 5 yarder. If in fact they had 12 on the field during live ball, it is a 15 yarder.

I know JC used 16th last year, who did they use Friday?

I think the 15th but dont hold me to that. JC did have 12 on the field when the ball was snapped but the 12th man was headed to the sidelines and was about 3 yds away from it. I wasnt sure if it was a 5 or 15 but JC didnt play the down with 12, the kid came on out. Either way the officals did a decent job of calling the game.

By rule if there was 12 on the field at the snap, penalty. Again, officials can use judgement, was the kid actually going to participate? Was he busting his butt to get to the sideline? Did the defense know he was leaving? You must understand that some offenses will try and deceive the defense. You remember back when Boomer was with the Bengals and they would get this call all the time. I think from hearing what happened, it was the right call. I spoke to someone and they told me the 15th had the game. That is a good association. No matter, you are always going to get statements that are negative toward officials.
