August 22, 200719 yr Tiki's a pansy and laying the blame on everyone else... If this wasn't in a city like NY, it'd be over by now...
August 22, 200719 yr In all fairness, Tiki didn't let his retirement plans be known. It was accidentally leaked to a reporter that he was considering retirement...then from there he went ahead and announced his plans. He had intended to keep it quiet at first... Did some accidentally leak him blasting his coach?
August 22, 200719 yr Say whatever you want. Some will always insist on hating Eli because of his name. Most criticize him for being too laid back, and now he is stepping up and defending himself. I don't think Eli would have said these things 2 years ago..or last year. Which falls into what I said. Maybe Tiki is doing this to get Eli to man up and play how he has been expected.
August 22, 200719 yr Why is it everyone wants to bring race up? This has nothing to do with anyone's skin color. Not everyone is. Most everyone is smart enough not to bring it up. BTW, I wasn't really serious, I don't think it's racial. I hope Eli has a big year this year. Especially since Plax is my number 2 receiver:eek:
August 22, 200719 yr Plax is one of my favorite receivers in the NFL along with CJ, Moss, TO & CJ #2.
August 23, 200719 yr "I am fine talking to Tiki," Manning said between training camp practices at the University at Albany. "If I see him, I'll definitely talk to him. I will be friendly to him. I'm not trying to start something. It's just a deal that happened and hopefully when we see each other, and we will, and it won't be awkward. I don't want it to be." "I guess I have always been an even-keel guy, never really responded back, always tried to make things smooth and easy," Manning said. "That's probably the first time I fired back a bit. It was one of those things that I felt I needed to do." "This is kind of a done issue for me," Manning said. "I made some comments yesterday and it's over in my eyes. I don't want to make it a bigger deal. I want to try to end it as soon as possible." "I am not surprised," receiver Plaxico Burress said. "When somebody talks about you, you are supposed to stand up for yourself." Guard Chris Snee said that no one on the team was going to get bent out of shape by what Barber said. He also had a different view of Manning's talk to the offense in the 12th week of last season. "Eli is not a big vocal guy, but he has shown leadership," said Snee, who is Coughlin's son-in-law. "I have seen it. If Tiki or anyone else wants to say they were laughing when he was speaking, that's fine. I took it as if he (Eli) was fired up and ready to play." LINK
August 23, 200719 yr Tiki has a few good seasons and now he knows everything. To be honest I dont care too much for him anyway.
August 24, 200719 yr Well if Manning had a hard time giving speeches before, imagine how much harder it will be for him now. Knowing that some people thought speeches he gave were comical. That probably be in the back of his head now for awhile anytime he tries to give a speech...
