I would be the first Tiger fan to wish we truely had an arsenal. Don't get me wrong, I love our program and Coach but wish the offense would incorporate a passing game that did not involve 3rd and 15.... a game plan like the one against Trinity a few years back would be nice to keep people honest. On average smash mouth football does beat all but 2 teams we play. An when we are loaded we beat the other two.

Tigers by 17 in a great HOME opener.

Go Tigers

Was that the quick hitch to the TE?

If I remember correctly, Coach Bean had Trinity playing a standard cover-3, and the corners were 8-10 yards off the ball. The wide receivers for X were strictly running simple curl patters in front of the CB's, and Brent Curley was putting the ball on the money. Ever once in a while, X would stack 3 to one side and then throw the long ball to the lone receiver on the other side who had strictly man coverage. For whatever reason, Trinity never switched to press coverage or reduced the CB drops on their cover-3, so the same 8-10 curl play was there for the whole ballgame.

If there are truly 7 starters out for the Tigers, then this game may be a toss-up. I'll be there in my Trinity attire.

Hence the Coach Bean, "halftime non-adjustment"...

I really feel as if this will be a closely contested game. Ballard is coming in as a much improved team that is allegedly "loaded" with tallent. St. X has had their typical preseason of limited offense success coupled with a bunch of injuries. Really think this one will be pretty close at the half and at the final horn. Turnovers will be big as in any game, yet in close games, they turn the tide. With all the excitment of the new stadium etc., it will be interesting to see how the Tigers respond, for four quarters... Sounds as if there will be a couple of people in attendance at this game. Get there early to get in your seats..... Go Tigers....

I always laugh when I see people that show up at a rivals game in the their teams attire. A simple hat or something for your team is fine, but I think if I go to a Trinity game with a X hat, shirt and so on I would look like someone that just wants attention or to get a rise out of others. I am sure those that do this will say they just have passion...

Just my opinion.

How true, but that's just normal for the turf.

One of my neighbors has a son at Ballard. I will probably see if I can borrow a cap from him to wear to the game.

Sounds good, I will wear my C. Renner Jersey to the Trinity vs Ballard basketball game because I respect their basketball program so much.

We will have free parking for you at the fairgrounds. Grab a corn dog for the walk.

Go Tigers

Kind of like a player from one school hanging out at another teams practice? With a brand new barrel, full of good apples, the Tigers are poised to make some sweet cider this year! Go Tigers

We've heard much about X not being at full strength. What about the Bruins - will they be missing any starters?

I know they'll be missing one huge starter.

X by a whole lot now, maybe 35.

Let's keep the talk focused on the game, rather than each other's attire. :thumb:

Who might that "huge" starter be?
