August 16, 200719 yr because he could no longer afford her medical bills. This is pretty sad to hear. The guys was nuts for doing it but our medical care system has to be fixed somehow. KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man threw his seriously ill wife four stories to her death because he could no longer afford to pay for her medical care, prosecutors said in charging him with second-degree murder.
August 16, 200719 yr That is just horrible. Put me in a car, shut the garage door and turn on the engine but please don't throw me off a balcony 4 stories high.

August 16, 200719 yr This is so sad, there is no way I could ever even fathem doing that to my wife, sick or not!!!!!!!
August 16, 200719 yr There are ways around the medical bills. This guy has just cracked under the strain of being the care provider and seeing her deteriorate.
August 17, 200719 yr There are times that people just don't think they have any other choice. What makes me madder than fire is that there are way to get help and rarely are these people told this at the hospitals or even doctor's offices. Someone should have sat down with this man and told him of places that will help. I've had people sit down in front of me and tell me that they can't afford their medicine and I pick up the phone and call their doctor and ask them if they have samples....most of the time they do and what I can't understand is why didn't someone tell them this when they were in the doctor's office.:irked: In Kentucky there are special services for women with breast or cervical cancer. Of course you can't have any insurance or a massive amount of money but there are ways. There are special medical cards for women with cancer (if you qualify). You just have to ask questions of all the places in your town...i.e., doctor's office, hospital, health departments. There might be a special "free" clinic in your area that will offer you services. We need to know to ask questions ...ask questions...ask questions!!!!! Can you tell that this is something that just puts me in a twirl?
August 17, 200719 yr He should have jumped with her if it was to much to take. This might have been an option, but it still would have left people dead. Hospitals need to inform people on help for bills, care giving , help for the care giver and so on. They , the hospital should be a little responsible.
August 17, 200719 yr She only weighted 70 lbs . So sad. The news said he kissed her and then threw her over the rail.
August 17, 200719 yr This is so sad, there is no way I could ever even fathem doing that to my wife, sick or not!!!!!!! No one can fathom it because we're not in the situation suffering from the stress and watching your loved one suffer. I think this just goes to show how far stress and anxiety (and love ) will take one to. I pass no judgment on this guy.

Everyone handles things differently and he may have thought this was his only way out of the situation. I agree with RebelK in that I wish someone had steped up and talked with this individual. I somewhat understand the stress he felt. At this time my mother is suffering from Alzheimer's. She is at home, bedfast & has been on a feeding tube for a couple of years now. She requires care 24 hrs. a day and must be cared for as you would an infant. My family work shifts to see her needs are met. We are fortunate that we can provide the health care and financial support that she needs. That alone helps relieve some of the stress involved with a long term illness. I don't think I would have taken the measure that he chose but until we are faced with the same situation he was in,( as cash81 stated) we really don't know what our reaction would be. In his heart he may have really thought he was doing the right thing. Right or wrong I will not pass judgement on his actions but Pray that he has peace in his heart.

I would agree if he had given her an overdose of pain medication or even put a gun to her head while she slept. He on the other hand threw her off the 4th floor balcony. :irked:
August 17, 200719 yr I would agree if he had given her an overdose of pain medication or even put a gun to her head while she slept. He on the other hand threw her off the 4th floor balcony. :irked: Extreme. However, we're under the seemingly false impression that one in this situation takes his/her time to collect their thoughts and make rational decisions. If you're to the point of killing the one you love, rationality has gone out the door.
