Kentucky High School Game Night

Recommended Posts

I cleared this announcement with Guru a couple of weeks ago and since today was the first day of football practice I thought this was the perfect time to make the announcement.

Beginning Friday, August 24, a new sports radio program will air on 98.9 WSIP at 10 p.m. In the comming weeks the show will air immediately following the conclusion of all Johnson Central Football Games on the same station.

Kentucky High School Game Night will run down all of the scores from that night which will include radio hilights from certain games. In addition, KHS Game Night will provide post-game interviews with coaches and members of the media as well as in-depth statistics from each contest.

No longer will you have to scan the radio stations on your way home from the game, hoping to find scores. KHS Game Night, on 98.9 WSIP, will be the only stop you need to make. This will be an fast-paced, energetic program and will give you the information you want when you want it.

Here's To A Great Season,

KHS Game Night

Good stuff.

We are also going to put a thread together this year to let everyone know about all the webcasts/radio shows but that is for another thread.

I have to say, Johnson Cental is one of the most interesting and exciting football programs in the state right now.

You have already earned one listener! It's about time something like that was started, for years I have listened to 96.5 WXCC out of Williamson, WV and at 10:00 there has been a West virginia variation put on by the Metro news Network, they have relied on post game reports called in by an individual who had the stats in hand.

If I could throw one idea in though it would be to occasionally broadcast live from area restaraunts (think ala "Rich Brooks Show") where fans can gather after the game and ask questions live. Additionally, by teaming up with the East Kentucky Broadcasting Networks, 93.1, 96.5, etc.... you could potentially broadcast from Belfry, PBurg, Pikeville, etc.. depending on where the biggest game was.

Guru,

People can say what they want about Jim Matney. I have said before, and will continue to say, that you will be hardpressed to find a better coach in the state. His rapid turnaround of the JC program in terms of wins says all you need to know about his X's and O's. The new facilities, the unbelievable community support, the confidence of the players, and the sustained momentum that the program continues to garner since Day 1 speaks volumes for what he does best though as a head coach. Throw in the fact that most players who play for him absolutely think the world of him, and regardless of whatever media bites he may throw on occasion, he is still top notch!

I for one can't wait to for "Kentucky High School Game Night" to begin. Did I hear that the show was going to give a player of the week if the coaches will cooperate and nominate a player each week?

We have had a great response from the coaches. And, yes we will be presenting a trophy to each Player of the Week.
