Track the Reds: 2nd Half

Featured Replies

Bottom of the 6th, no score.

Keppinger a one out double to score Griffey. Reds get the bases loaded with one out. But Gonzalez strikes out and Livingston is not lifted for a pinch hitter and he grounds out.

1-0 going to the 7th.

Leadoff homer by Giles, 1-1 in 7th.

Going to bottom of 7th, 1-1.

Keppinger comes through AGAIN, a 2 out, bases loaded single scoring Hatteberg and Phillips. 3-1.

After a Valentin walk, Gonzalez gets a double with the bases loaded, scoring Dunn and Keppinger. 5-1.

Livingston pops out. Going to the 8th. 5-1

Going to bottom of 8th, 5-1.

Leadoff single by Hatteberg, double by Hopper, Griffey intentional walk. bases loaded, nobody out.

Phillips lines out. Giles makes an error on Dunn ground ball, 2 runs score. 7-1.

Valentin single scoring Griffey, 8-1. 2 outs.

Going to the 9th, 8-1.

Livingston working on a 2 hitter, has thrown just 86 pitches through 8. Did the bullpen ever need this rest today.

Reds win 8-3. Excellent outing by Livingston. He goes 8 1/3 giving up 3 runs. Bill Bray comes in to get the final two outs. Keppinger with 2 more hits, and 3 RBI today. The guy can flat out hit. The Reds have their work cut out for them tomorrow as the Padres send their ace Jake Peavy to the mound. Arroyo will take the hill for the Redlegs.

Yep, I waited until the Reds had a VERY large lead and were through the 8th before I said anything about Livingston having a great day. I still think he should have been left in after giving up the 2 run homer to complete the game. BUT still a great, great performance and Keppinger continues his assault to a 400 average.

The Cincinnati Reds reinstated outfielder Josh Hamilton from the 15-day disabled list Sunday and designated infielder Mark Bellhorn for assignment.

Hamilton has been on the DL since July 12 with a sprained right wrist. He hit .375 (6-for-16) in five rehab games with Triple-A Louisville.

Bellhorn made five pinch-hit appearances and one at third base as a defensive replacement since joining the Reds on July 31.

Today's line-up:

Hatteberg 1b

Hopper cf

Phillips 2b

Dunn lf

Keppinger ss

Encarnacion 3b

Ellison rf

Ross c

Arroyo p

I told someone this morning at the golf course that I thought it was 50/50 that Dunn was in RF and Keppy was in LF. I guess Petey Mack sat Gonzo down to avoid the potential 2nd guessing. :p:D

Good line on the game today if you are a betting man. -150 for Peavy.

I guess this will give me something to watch til Tiger tees off.
