DragonFire
http://www.cnn.com/2007/TRAVEL/07/06/seven.wonders/index.html I'm really not certain how you don't have the Pyramids on there, what with them being part of the original seven wonders. UKPat02
How did the Pyramids get left off? I'm not a big fan of The Christ the Redeemer statue being on the list, either. I am glad that Petra was included. It's probably the most amazing thing I've ever seen in person.
The Professor
This is not worth the effort to run the poll. A total joke. There's no way the Pyramids of Ancient Egypt can be left off. It makes the whole campaign look silly. Simply put, it was an international cyperspace popularilty contest, and Egypt lost out due to a lack of population. UKPat02
My vote went this way - 1. The Pyramids 2. Petra 3. The Acropolis 4. Machu Picchu 5. Great Wall 6. Stonehenge 7. The COlosseum

ladiesbballcoach
I thought the Pyramids was automatically being a holdover from the original 7 wonders? Line from the article that probably hurt the Pyramids in voting as people assumed this meant they would be the 8th wonder. As a result, the organizers struck up a compromise. The pyramids have been assured honorary status, in addition to the new seven wonders.

UKPat02
I've been to The Colosseum, The Acropolis, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty and Petra. Anyone been to any of them?
The Professor
I've been to The Colosseum, The Acropolis, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty and Petra. Anyone been to any of them? Just one...The Statue Of Liberty. It was almost as much fun waiting in the long line to the boat that took us out to Liberty Island as seeing the statue. People had all kinds of acts going on. One guy was a one man band, playing about 5 or 6 different instruments by using his feet as well as his hands. Of course he had a money bucket for any donations. And I was offered a new Rolex watch for a mere $250. When I said no, the guy lowered it to $150, then $100, and finally $20. I didn't buy. I bet it wasn't even a Rolex.
