As a result, the organizers struck up a compromise. The pyramids have been assured honorary status, in addition to the new seven wonders.

 

Great to call it honorary status, but IMO when someone is asked to name the new seven wonders of the world, they're not going to include honorary members. The pyramids will just have to remain part of the real seven wonders of the world, the originals.

I think they are short changing the pyramids.

If I remember right, those in support of the Pyramids were upset that the Pyramids had to be even in the running and should have automatically advanced. No voting on them, just move them forward.

 

So the organizers of this, gave them honorary status to appease them being upset that they were having to be considered.

The Pyramids shouldn’t be on the list because the 7 wonders are reserved for human built wonders. As we all know the Pyramids were built by little green aliens!!!!
