June 26, 200719 yr I just don't think I can agree. Manual has multiple national titles, and X, T and Male have zero. Apparently, they can't apply for the club. I really wish we were a power...closest we have come is 4th...the 3rd loser.

So has Utah and Boise St. IMO UL is on the cusp of becoming a national power, however, they need to sustain this level of play a little while longer to gain that status. They are only a couple of years away from C-USA. Can they sustain this level of success within a BCS conference long term. Probably, but I think a few more seasons are needed to call them a national power.

June 26, 200719 yr When I think about UL, I always compare them to the way Johnson Central gets treated. People always talk about how they are a team you have to watch out for, but the only ones talking about them winning it all is their own fans. In time I hope it changes on here.

I'm sorry I just don't agree, and its not based on hate. Ten years from now you might be right, but IMO a national power is a little more consistent than that. Perhaps our definitions of national power are different, but I'm not ready to put them up with the Floridas, Ohio States, and Southern Cals just yet. And for the record Notre Dame is no longer a national power. And Charlie winning one BCS bowl game (if it happens won't make them one either). That being said they still pull a lot of weight financially, but the product on the field is far from national power status.
