June 14, 200719 yr I think gyms are a waste of money. Maybe for someone who's just naturally thin and toned.

June 14, 200719 yr Do you do any kind of specialized routine? Monday-Cardio Tuesday- Mile and a quarter run for warm up then I work chest and arms. Wedesday- Cardio Thursday- 8 minute mile warmup then Shoulders and back Friday-8 minute mile warmup then chest, legs and then dropsets to end the week on. I am probably going to add 21's to Friday's routine soon. I workout with a friend of mine T,Th and F. Cardio we do on our own.
June 14, 200719 yr Anything like that is 15 minutes out of my way, and more than I'd want to spend. It takes me less than 2 minutes to get to the gym from my house. Mine is only 34.99 a month so it isn't too bad. It has 2 locations and I live right between them so I can get to one or the other within 15 depending on traffic conditions.
June 14, 200719 yr If you are single and dont mind a 15 minute drive up I-71 to Norwood, you need to go to the Golds up there. My friends tell me that the women to men ratio is 10-1. Doesnt necessarily mean you will hook up at the gym but they say its a great conversation starter if you see them out.......Hey, You work out at Golds in Norwood dont you??? blah blah blah......trust me they go there to be seen. Me, personally, I'm a Fitworks guy and I go in the early A.M hours wiht all the coffee drinkers and quiet people. I avoid the plate slammers and screamers in the evening who walk by the mirrors and flex and lean on racks talking about nights at the bars.
June 14, 200719 yr I went and joined Gold's Gym. Im going to apply for recruit school to be a firefighter in August, so I figured I should try to get back in shape. Anybody else a member? Have you been satisfied? Good luck on becoming a firefighter. My brother in law has been one for about 13 years. He's a captain with the Ashland Fire Department. He's a 2nd generation firefighter, and he absolutely loves it.

That's where I am going until the one in Bellevue opens. I think 10:1 is being modest, it's way more than that. 15-20:1.

Hmmm I didn't realize until just now that I was actually being avoided, let alone by people I don't even know on a first name basis, man that's kinda hard to swallow. lol

Trust me I go there, and it is the last place I want to be seen. In fact the reason I go to the Norwood one is because I don't run in to people I know. Use to belong to the Fitworks in Newport and you can't walk in the door with out running into someone you know, which tacts on another 20 minutes to your workout time. My motto: Get in, workout, walkout.(or sometime crawl)

I'm talking about the young single girls that can still be caught by the young or old I guess, single men. I am surely out of the game but thought I would throw out some tips for the young guys. All you have to do Henry is put in some headphones and when you see someones lips moving like they are talking to you just ignore them, it works everytime. :thumb:
