Just clue us in. We'll still follow the team. They've sucked this long. Heck, any semblance of a plan will make us buy tickets.

There has been hardly any communication between management and the fans.

Krivsky was on with Doc the other night and was a little standoffish with Doc.

What we are getting as opposed to what Castelenni said when he took over is two seperate things.

They have not effectively communicated what their plan is. Obviously, you don't want to bury the present team, but they have done nothing to suggest they are worth saving.

The absence of sincere communication is the absence of leadership.

 

They caught lightning in a bottle last year and was within screaming distance of first place...I think management was hoping for more of the same, this year. Obviously, how the team was constructed alluded to them thinking they could be around .500 again. How we looking? Not good.

 

The "we need to play better....don't give up on us yet" mantra rings extremely hallow.

 

I can live with Narron the rest of the year...I can wait til July to dump some guys...what I don't like is the rearranging of the deck chairs on the Titanic attitude...."we need to play better"....ugh!

Call it me being a stupid glass half full guy but despite their record, I think this team is on the verge and 1 everyday RH clutch hitter and then 2-3 bullpen guys from being a really good team. A team that can win the Central and make noise in the playoffs.

 

They have dug themselves too deep of a hole this year but I don't believe they are as far away as I once believed.

 

You have to have a nice mixture of youth and veterans and I would hate to see them dump veterans for the sake of adding prospects.

 

The starters are rounding out to be a decent starting 5.

Weathers needs help in the bullpen.

Call it me being a stupid glass half full guy but despite their record, I think this team is on the verge and 1 everyday RH clutch hitter and then 2-3 bullpen guys from being a really good team. A team that can win the Central and make noise in the playoffs.

Just add catcher, leadoff hitter, speed, and Miltons and JRs salaries, and then they're on the verge. See what happens win they win 2 games in a row? Fans start believing they're pretty good. They're not

A strong offensive catcher is not a prerequisite for a good team. Ross is a good defensive catcher and that is more of what is needed in that slot.

 

Hopper and Freel have done well enough as a leadoff hitter.

 

They have some speed and it would be nice to have some more but they can win without it.

 

Milton is a bust. No argument there.

Last time I saw that Ross was batting under.200 and he may be a little better than avg defensively. Last I looked Freel hasn't played in a couple of weeks. Hopper OK. Weak in the OF though. They only have speed when either Dunn or Jr aren't in the lineup. I did not propose trading anyone. Iwas just pointing that I don't think the Reds are on the verge of anything. As far as the glass, this morning it was .619 empty, .381 full. You can't argue the W-L stat. Its the only one that matters.
