1. Greenup's overwhelming large win over Raceland last night.

2. Morgan County beat East Carter tonight, at least thats what KHSAA site has.

3. Lewis County beat Russell.

 

Hopefully there arent anymore shockers in the 16th Region from this point on...If you know what I mean...:thumb:

Lewis beat Russell?? Wow, I had not heard anything on that one and was just checking the forum again to see.

 

Congrats to Lewis County :thumb: :thumb: Good luck in the 16th regional.

5-4 it was a really good game fun 1 to watch Russell had it won then gave up 4 in the 5th to kill a 4-1 lead and couldnt score with 2 men on in the 7th

Kinda looking bad for Boyd in their Regional matchup.

 

I look for Boyd to win their District tonight, then will have a pretty tough opponent the next game, due to some good teams being runner-ups in their District. Boyd has the talent to beat anyone, I just hope they can be consistent, because they will have to be.

Morgan beat East 9-2. Jon Lopez held East to just 4 hits and was named the tourney MVP. East did not play defense, pitchers worked from behind all night and Morgan just flat outplayed the Raiders. We carried the game on the air and that is pretty much what Coach Shearer had to say about the game.

Was impressed by the Cougars ability to hit at all parts of their lineup. They played excellent 'small' ball and got some big hits and hit it hard each inning.

 

Was a very big win for a very young Cougar team. Head Coach Brandon Evans deserves positive recognition for taking a team from a handful of wins to 22-10 in one season. Congrats to Coach Evans and the Cougars. They beat a well coached baseball team in East Carter, who was 20-6 going into last night's game I think? Coach Shearer does a great job.

What's the deal with Rowan Co. being 28-8? Wow! Are they a region favorite this year?

 

They are prob in the top four, but Boyd Co is the favorite to win the region

Boyd, Rowan and Greenup are imo the favorites. Any one of these three could win the 16th region. East C. and Raceland I considered favorites as well but they have been eliminated. Also one can never count out Ashland, they could be a sleeper/darkhorse in this thing.
