The only difference is that with Elson and Jones, it turned out to be nothing. The motivations were the same, it just came down to someone in the front office deciding what was and what was not an "altercation."

And you'd be looking at a hefty fine and possible suspension for the head coach, if it was obvious that's what he was intending. Everyone forgets the possibility that Duncan could have just been going to check on his fallen teammate. There was no altercation when Duncan stepped on the court, unlike the Horry foul. Some are just so anti-spurs on this board they can't see that....

I understand that the NBA has a rule and that this rule was broken. Per the rules, suspensions are necessary, I get that. This "altercation" has just changed the course of what was a great series and I hate that for myself and all NBA fans. I think the rule needs to be examined.
