As in past years, we are doing a contest for Saturday's Nextel Cup All-Star race at Lowes Motor Speedway.

 

Here's how it works.

 

The race has a new format this year. There will be the Nextel Open where two scrubs...I mean top two drivers will advance to the All-Star race.

 

The All-Star race will consist of four 20 lap segments.

 

Here is how you can pick up bonus points for the week, which can help you get back in the thick of the chase.

 

You get 10 points for picking the winner of the Nextel Open.

 

Here are the drivers eligible to race in the open. Just because they are listed doesn't mean they will race.

You get five points for picking the winner of Segment 1, Segment 2, and Segment 3.

 

You get 15 points for picking the overall winner.

 

That's a total of 40 points possible, which will be added to your total score. However, there will be no weekly race winner. The points are just a bonus.
