Amazing how good defensive teams constantly get this claim made against them.

 

Okay for Stoudamire to go through people to dunk but how dare defenders get in his way and stop his dunks.

I agree. I think the Spurs just play good tough D. However a team who plays none might take this the wrong way, kinda like Amare is doing.

I wouldn't go as far to claim they're dirty, but I do think Bowen gets away with a ton of fouls. He is a great defensive player, but at times he is allowed way to much contact IMO.

 

Manu, well I just can't stand the guy, so I'm biased on him.

NBA should be NO BABIES ALLOWED dont cry about rough or dirty play be as physical as the other team. But this being brought out watch the Suns shoot about 45 or 50 free throws next game.

I see what you are saying and agree they are a very physical team. I believe they get away with a lot of what they do because that is how they always play and are just established amongst everyone, including the refs. Somewhat how Florida bball plays. They are physically imposing and a lot rougher than most teams, but that is the game they establish.

Bowen is dirty. Always has been.

If anybody saw it on ESPN, you could clearly see Manu kneeing Amare in the back of the knee on purpose when Amare was going up for a dunk down the middle. I could care less because I'm not a fan of either team so I'm not being biased.

I've never seen him do anything dirty. I've seen him get a tad bit rough, but dirty? No...just a bunch of cry babies whining about someone playing physical defense.

When this was brought up last time (1-2 years ago) I started actually watching him away from the ball and noticed that he does more than almost everyone else except his teammates.

I guess the refs just for some odd reason love Bruce Bowen and allow him to get away with an extra amount of contact? Thats it, it's a conspiracy with Bruce and the refs against the rest of the league! C'mon...let's be serious. He might be a little more physical...but I've never seen the guy try to hurt someone. Amari is a big baby...

The play they showed on ESPN sure looked like he intentionally went after Amari's ankle/achilles....

I've seen a ton of Spurs games and I've seen him get called for a ton of fouls...I think a lot of players accuse him of being dirty because he shuts a lot of players down. It's an easy excuse for getting whipped.
