I would add, though, that the riverfront area was/is in need of development. Not so much the farmland out in the counties that's being eaten up at an alarming rate.

Where the majority of the things are being built, what will you miss? It's on the bank of the Ohio. Nothing besides used tires and tree limbs are in those spaces. The landing is already there just not as nice. I fail to see the character that's being sacrificed.

 

If anything it was sacrificed years ago when they tore down places like B&J Bowl...IMO

I think a little development is good. But, just like in the seaside resort areas, over-development is just ugly. If mismanaged, all it does is make us look like every other town.

Bellevue and Dayton will never be mistaken for a "big town".

 

With all this development I still can't walk up or down Taylor Ave without seeing 10 people I know.

 

The city is one square mile, put all the condos you want there down by the river, it still will always have the small town feel.

Seriously, it's move forward or be left behind. I'd much rather have that revenue and those jobs in NKY than Cincy, even if we have to cover up some mud...

 

The only thing I kind of agree with is the fact that we will have to look around a few high rise buildings to see downtown Cincy. I can live without that, though...

The last proposal I heard had a split Route 8, with the current street becoming only East bound and making a new road down closer to the river, solely for going west.
