NKY cities seem to get along, and our river bank's are looking great for the most part. Cincinnati tends to argue too much with each other.

I know the presentation started in Bellevue, but the logo says Dayton on it too... I wonder if it is referring to the new residential developments that Dayton is building on their shores of the Ohio...

It is, and it's named after Ben, Alan's Dad. I worked there for four summers through high school and my first year of college. GREAT summer time job.

Where are these? I've not seen them and I drive down there all the time.

 

they haven't actually started the building yet... I think it is a matter of crossing the "t's" and dotting the "i's"... I know the school has already started looking for a new option for the football teams practice facility, because there has already been soil testing being done on old Walker Field behind the floodwall... so the development isn't exactly started yet, but almost there... from what I understand...

Let me ask a question: Do you think we're in danger of too much development on the river? Are we sacrificing our character, and everything we've known in our hometown for the sake of development?

Actually I did think something similar to this when I first heard it. It all looks like a great idea, but are we going to have to get rid of a lot of the old for the new? Are we almost "overloading" the area with development?

Actually I don't think the area they are developing was all that developed in the past. It isn't like they are taking any buildings with alot of NKY history or anything. Bellevue and Dayton are just small river towns and very little development close to the river due to flooding. The '37 flood hopfully taught us a lesson, which is the question I have is how all this new develpment is going to withstand flooding?

I think it's great. The river banks in Bellevue and Dayton for years have been dumping grounds and looked terrible.

Seems pretty consistent with what's going on all across NoKy, Boone Co. especially. NoKy seems to have made a decision a long time ago to sacrifice its character for development.
