May 8, 200719 yr Yeah, but is slower than Brohm. I've been watching both of them play football for a while, and Brohm is faster. And he has the workout 40 times to show it, too. Brian is deceptively fast... Unless you are a burner like Vick, et al., I believe 40 times are overrated as a QB in the NFL. Elusiveness in the pocket in the pocket is much more important. Although he does have sound protection, Peyton Manning is the best at avoiding sacks by taking just one or two steps... neither of them are great at that; which is just one of the few reasons I do not forsee either of them excelling at the next level (excelling meaning one of the better NFL QBs).

But I think that's something that can be coached out of him because he feels the rush pretty well.
May 8, 200719 yr I, unlike you, am not already going to count Andre out. I still believe with the talent he has around him, he can have a great year. He is returning Keenan Burton, Rafael Little, Tony Dixon, Jacob Tamme, D. Ford, Dicky Lyons Jr. He has more than enough weapons and could very well have as good of a year as last season. What's funny, is the fact that you failed to name his most important thing...THE OLINE.

May 8, 200719 yr Woodson has a wind up motion but has the size that the NFL loves. Unless you are a freak...throwing motion is numero uno to these guys...Andre throws a pretty ball...but he minimizes his height with his 3/4 motion...and definately has a long release with 'said' "wind up motion"
May 8, 200719 yr I think the O-Line did fine last year and will continue to do well next season. Do you have a problem with UK's Oline? In 2006, UK gave up 39 sacks...U of L gave up 20....now....the nucleus of UL's line comes back...AND they play a weaker schedule than UK.....reason states...that Brian will be just fine....Andre likely will as well....put he will have some stretches of difficulty, that aren't his fault, but that will certainly effect the bottom line of his draft status.

I actually think Brohm is quite adept at avoiding contact....you have to remember that a lot of times even releasing the ball early is avoiding contact...and Brian's pre-snap reads are sick.

Brohm is plenty big for an NFL QB. Plenty. We aren't talking about Stefan LeFors here. He's the same height as Tom Brady (6'4".) How many 'freak' athletes at QB have rings in the past 10 years? Now, how many students of the game and pure passers have rings? When the best freak athlete you can find on that list is Big Ben (who even his most ardent supporter isn't going to crown the MVP of the 2005-06 Steelers) it might be time to re-evaluate what you think teams are looking for in a QB. John Elway was a big time athlete coming out of Stanford.

I would not consider his motion a 3/4 motion. Also, one concern I would have about Brian Brohm being drafted number 1 is his medical report. He has appeared to lost a step since high school which is trouble for a 21 year old man. Those legs are of concern to me.

May 8, 200719 yr What was JaMarcus Russell rated at this time last year. What about Vince young the year before. It is way to early to tell what is going to happen. I will say the last two years, the prototypical quarterback has been picked on and scrutinized only to see their stock drop on draft day (Lienert, Quinn).
