Todd McShay, ESPN, 2008 top picks; NFL Draft

Featured Replies

What was JaMarcus Russell rated at this time last year. What about Vince young the year before. It is way to early to tell what is going to happen. I will say the last two years, the prototypical quarterback has been picked on and scrutinized only to see their stock drop on draft day (Lienert, Quinn).

I believe Russell was rated 3rd or 4th best QB in Kipers book last year, so lets see after this year where Woodson is at.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Woodson as a top ten pick. I can't see him dropping out of the frist round. He has size, arm strength, and success against top-shelf competition - all of those are big factors.

JaMarcus had two huge advantages at LSU. First, he had an outstanding coach in Jimbo Fischer who is now at Florida State.

Second, he had to go up against the Nick Saban recruited, all-world defensive backs in 7 on 7 drills at LSU practices for three years. Just ask Brady Quinn about how good those big, speedy LSU defensive backs were! That game alone probably was the first thing that start NFL scouts to question him being the number 1 pick in the NFL draft.

Good props for the UK Players.

Lorenzon had the same things, and he wasn't drafted. He's still going to have to test out well at the combine.

Not much success against top shelf....look at the stats of his losses against top teams...not great.

Lorenzen weighed in at around 300 Lbs...

I just don't see him as a first round pick right now. That could change with a big year, but I see him as a 2nd to 4th round as of right now.
