May 10, 200719 yr the only thing you're right about in this statement is the NBA thing. Do you think it happens this year?

May 10, 200719 yr Why in the world would a college, especially successful one, even attempt to jump? ego and more money... I think he is stupid if he ever leaves florida other than to retire.
May 10, 200719 yr the only thing you're right about in this statement is the NBA thing. Which would reason why he didnt go after the UK job. Billy D know what he's doing... just break your advisor off a piece of the cake...
May 10, 200719 yr Why in the world would a college, especially successful one, even attempt to jump? Overblown Ego is the only thing I can come up with . Example: Rick Pitino
May 10, 200719 yr Which would reason why he didnt go after the UK job. Billy D know what he's doing... just break your advisor off a piece of the cake... Let's put it this way. After the dust settled and I heard the full story, Billy was no where near signing with UK ,despite the stories that went around. Serious talks NEVER happened. Would you ever believe that he didn't want the job? No, so I won't even get into it with you.
May 10, 200719 yr For the people who say Billy D turned down the UK job because he wanted to go to the NBA and not for UF are flawed in there thinking.. Billy D actually never even got into serious negotiations with UK.. Had he gotten involved, Mitch would have made it happen.. Let's not kid ourselves and think Billy G was our top choice, he wasn't.. The truth of the matter is BD is happy at UF, trusts his boss, feels comfortable with the situation there and UF could have and would have matched any salary UK may have offered.. I know thats hard for some UK diehards to understand, but, not everyone thinks UK is THE job of all jobs.. As far as BD going to the NBA, I'll believe it when I see it.. I'm sure there is an interest and the money would be lucrative and you're at the pinnacle of the sport at the NBA level, but, just because some teams are courting him, doesn't mean he'll jump at that opportunity.. He knows he has a great thing where he's at and I believe it would take some sort of incredible offer to get him away and with no NBA experience, I don't see that happening.. Just my opinion...
May 10, 200719 yr My feelings on that were that he never intended to take the U.K. job at all. He used Barnhart to up his price at U.F.. I for one am glad that Lil' Ricky wanna be Donovan is NOT at U.K.. :thumb:
