May 10, 200719 yr I don't think that this Louisville team will be as good as the 95-96 Basketball Cats. But they are going to be pretty good. The thing is though, since this year's Cards have not played yet the sky is the limit on what could be. So while many or all of us doubt that the Cards will be as good as that UK squad was, really no one knows for sure that they can't be as good. Same as when UK football fans dream preseason of beating Louisville in football, no one really thinks it is to be expected, but there is always a chance it could happen.

THere is always a chance but the chances are very small. The 96 UK team is considered one of the top teams of all time. UL would have to do some amazing things to even be considered in the same breath.

May 10, 200719 yr and they still wouldn't come within 20+ of te 96' Cats. Hardly anybody came within 20 of the 96 Cats! (Notice I said hardly.) UMass in Nov. and MSU in SEC Tournament. UMass in Final Four, Syracuse in Nat. Championship. :thumb:

The chance of UK beat UofL in football is ALOT better than the chance that the 08 Louisville team will be as good as the 96 team. They will be lucky to make the final four. They will be good, but not 96 UK good.

May 11, 200719 yr I agree that UK's football team would have a better chance of beating UL's football team than UL's basketball team beating the 1996 UK championship team. The reason for the longer shot being the Cardinal basketball team is that UK's 96 team is one of the all time great teams. UL's football team may be good this year but no way are they going to be one of the all time great college football teams, even a UL fan should be able to admit that.
