Just because you live on welfare doesn't mean you can't raise good kids. Not good enough. Too vague. How do you enforce what you describe?

May 13, 200719 yr Sorry I missed most of the discussion on this since my post about "Drug Testing". I was raised by my mother with no help from my "so call father". She received welfare while raising me and my brother, BUT she worked everyday. Welfare is supposed to be an aid to families who work and still struggle and families who need help until they can get themselves straightened out. Welfare is not supposed to be a paycheck to someone who doesn't or hasn't ever worked. Another problem with the Welfare system is that alot of illegal immigrants are receiving aid from Uncle Sam and they are not even residents of the USA. Now as far as the "Drug Testing" I was talking about, it should be for people who don't try to work and are working the system for a free ride through life. How do you find those people? Social Services need to be budgeted more money to allow a person to investigate people in the field not just at the local office. You hear every election about how illegal aliens take the jobs that Americans won't work. Well we have people who can work, lets put them into these jobs and MAKE them work for their aid.

That was the word I was looking for (eligible). Not only do they get this aid but they also get healthcare that goes unpaid by them but by people who have insurance which is why healthcare cost have skyrocketed in the past several years.

May 14, 200719 yr Couldn't these be falsified, too? Probably, but with much difficulty and at great expense. Right now you can buy a Social Security and green card for about $50. They're both terribly easy to produce. Once you have those two items, you can get anything.

You have to come up with specifics if you ever would hope to put it into effect. Its like saying "you can't drive fast" or you get a ticket.
