But they aren't banned. Intact dialation and extraction is a relatively rare procedure as well, as only about .17% of all abortions. And most are preformed before the 24th week.

I might add that, generally, Dems target the poor and Repubs target the rich. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Both groups are as American as each other, but the media tries to say that Republicans don't care about the poor, when really it is that the Republicans care more about getting elected.

It is not credible for a group to claim to support the poor, needy, and vulnerable when it condones and aids the destruction of our most dependent. Of course, we all know that the preborn don't vote and, therefore, cannot provide that group with power.

How about Democrats are for helping the poor, the sick, the young, the old, the crippled and maimed and discriminated, while Republicans are out to help themselves and people that look like them?

 

Or Democrats are for reasoned, responsible stewardship of our planet, while Republicans see natural resources as a means of production to be exploited.

 

Democrats are for foreign policy strategies that strengthen goodwill for America and preserves our ability to defend ourselves and others while Republicans believe that might makes right and to hell with those that won't get in line and bring 'em on.

 

The truth is, NEITHER party has a personal line to God. NEITHER party has a monopoly on ethics or righteousness. Or self righteousness for that matter.

You may be surprised by this, but I don't disagree with a lot of the things you think the Democrats stand for or are identified with. I think you are harshly wrong as to the Republicans however. Perhaps its an over simplication, but I few the fundamental difference between the two parties as being akin to parental child raising beliefs. The Democrats want to provide soft love with the hope that the constant love and affection showered on the child will work. Republicans are more of the tough love belief. Either philosophy, if taken to the extreme, can do more harm to the child than good. Too much soft love and the child becomes spoiled and not able or willing to do things for himself, because the parents will take care of him. Too much tough love and the child becomes bitter, thinks the parent does not care and his spirit broken. But both parents want the same thing for the child: to grow up, be a good adult and a contributing member of society and accordingly we should respect the other side. They want the same thing that we do, its just a different philosophy of getting there. And there is no perfect way to raise a child or philosophy for running a country.
