April 25, 200719 yr Would he deny someone the opportunity to get it because they are living in sin? (I do not think homosexuals are living in sin, but for discussions sake I have couched the question in these terms)
April 25, 200719 yr But no one is denying them health care. That would be illegal. Anyone can get health care. The rub is who pays for the health care.
April 25, 200719 yr If Jesus was in charge of healthcare, hospitals would be unnecessary. One touch and you're healed.
April 26, 200719 yr If Jesus was in charge of healthcare, hospitals would be unnecessary. One touch and you're healed. That was my thought.

April 26, 200719 yr At the university of Louisville the partner would payfor it. Why is that a bad thing? Cincinnati had a tax levy that raised money to pay for indigent care. I'm not sure if it passed this last election. The part I hated was that it covered prisoners of the county jail, whether they were residents, needed care before the entered jail, or whether or not they could afford it.

April 26, 200719 yr Author Let me rephrase my question: The Christians in the Kentucky legislature think they will be doing God's bidding by passing legislation to prevent UK and UofL from providing domestic partner benefits. I just don't see anything Christian about that . . . Wouldn't Jesus want everyone to have health care? Did he withhold water from the woman at the well until she stopped sinning, or did he go ahead and give her the water?
April 26, 200719 yr Jesus met peoples needs first, didn't matter if they were sinners or saints. He wouldn't deny anyone health care (healing).

Not the legislature's place (nor anyone else's for that matter) to judge anyone, "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." But again, this question has to do with who is paying for the healthcare provided, not the healthcare itself.

How about all people who live within a quarter mile of a UK/UL employee? How about a half mile? I think Jesus would offer a drink to them also.

I think Jesus would offer a drink to them also. No he's saying Jesus wouldn't deny anyone healthcare, what this debate is really about is healthcare insurance. BIG difference between the two...
