June 21, 200719 yr I think Clarke's only purpose on this team is because the line is moving back which will give him the open looks he wants... If he is the best shooter available, why not. Why will it give him all the open looks he wants?
June 21, 200719 yr Why will it give him all the open looks he wants? Most of the kids can't shoot from 19'9'' as it is and with the way the game is played today by putting kids on the floor who lack fundamentals and get by on their athleticism, coaches will not spread defenses to cover out to 21 feet on a regular basis. Yea, I know it was a run on sentence. Anyhow, my point is that he will have plenty of open looks. I also think that the 3point line change is another reason why CBC is loading up on players who can fill any of the 2,3,4 spots. G

G So, if this youngster hits 2 in a row, they're not going to come out and guard him?
June 21, 200719 yr Author I don't think Clarke is a SG. At this point I think he's an average PG that can shoot...
June 21, 200719 yr I don't think Clarke is a SG. At this point I think he's an average PG that can shoot... Realizing that I've only watched the Youtube video so there may be more to the package than I saw, I don't see this kid playing PG effectively at the high D1 level.
June 21, 200719 yr So, if this youngster hits 2 in a row, they're not going to come out and guard him? Is this kid better or worse then Humphrey from FL??? I would think better because of his ball handling skills and look what he did to teams. If you watch the video and yes its just clips of him, but he seems to me that after his shots he is one of the first back down court. That hustle in transition is deadly with a great shooter. Sure, if you knock two in a row down they will stick someone in your face. But the game will change to a point with more scoring inside because of the line moving. You stretch a defense with the likes of Legion, Clarke, Warren (if we get him) etc out that far and guys like Patterson will have huge days...
June 21, 200719 yr I agree. He'll never get separation without help. i never thought Lofton would without help....i was wrong
June 21, 200719 yr i never thought Lofton would without help....i was wrong Fair point. However, in watching this kid, he doesn't have the same quick stop and release that Lofton has.
June 25, 200719 yr Willie Warren told Rivals today that he has made a decision that he is going to go where Rotnei Clarke goes. Clarke is slated to visit UK this weekend, and Warren may be coming with him.
June 25, 200719 yr Because one is black and one is white??? Pretty much. Basing it on nothing but the pictures I have of them.
June 25, 200719 yr Author Pretty much. Basing it on nothing but the pictures I have of them. I didn't realize it was still the 1950's...
June 25, 200719 yr I still can't get over this Rotnei Clarke thing. When I watch a video of him, he looks like dozens of other kids a played against in high school. No different than say Steven Kidd from Elliot Co (aside from Clarke from being a slight bit chunkier). This is one guy I would really like to see in person.
