gametime Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 "It's pretty much UConn and Cincinnati that we have been hearing from," said Coach Brown. "We haven't really heard from Florida or Tennessee lately. Maryland has also called some recently." What gives???
stickymitts Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Maybe Gillispie's recruiting him...  Welcome back buddy...
NKYBOY1487 Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 UConn, without a doubt. Habeet is going to go to the NBA and that leaves a void for a big man at UCONN. No reason he would come to UK or UC.
Baseballguy Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Cause we've got Jordan locked up. Jordan has spoken to Turgeon on the phone. The two hit it off, according to Smith, who said that Jordan will not seek a release from Texas A&M in order to play for Kentucky. Speculation to that effect began on Friday, the day Kentucky introduced Gillispie as its new coach. "There's no truth to that," Smith said. "I know that makes for a great story. But no one from this camp is going to Kentucky."

HammerTime Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 It's very unlikely that Thabeet declares for the draft. He's UC's to lose at this point if he qualifies... Who kind of ties does he have with UC or does he just like Mick and the school?
gametime Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 Who kind of ties does he have with UC or does he just like Mick and the school? Mick has been working very hard at developing a relationship with his family and coaches and it has paid off. And there aren't many involved in AAU ball that Mick doesn't have close ties to. His camp has been a bit put off by the front line depth and lack of a spot at UConn so what seemed like a lock a few months ago has changed. Also the lead recruiter on McClain for UConn took a HC job and that hurt them as well...

He's made several statements that Jordan himself contradicted....

gametime Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 So you thing that UK doesn't have a void at big man? I wouldn't pay much attention to that post. With or without Thabeet, UConn is deeper inside than UC and UK combined...
BigBlueFreak Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I wouldn't pay much attention to that post. With or without Thabeet, UConn is deeper inside than UC and UK combined... I'd prefer him to go to UK but if he doesn't come here, UC would be my next choice for him. How's Grutza looking anyway?
gametime Posted April 13, 2007 Author Posted April 13, 2007 How's Grutza looking anyway? Not as good as the staff would have liked to see so far. He's got a long way to go before he can even think about being the starter...
