April 14, 200719 yr Author These boys deserve more than a hollow apology. Although, I'm not exactly sure what they would be.I agree that they deserve a lot more, an apology would be a nice start though.
April 14, 200719 yr Let's take being accused of rape, being persecuted by the media for over a year, legal bills in excess of a million, walking into the courtroom with signs like "dead men walking" and having the stigma these kids will carry for the rest of their lives.... And compare it to being called a "nappy headed ho" by a shock jock in the ilk of Rush Limbaugh and Rosie...!!! Now step back and think about it...we are comparing the planet Jupitor with a marble!!!
April 14, 200719 yr Racism is alive and well in America..........but is being reversed Th Duke guys and the fact that black people are complaining because they are not the majority in baseball are 2 strong cases to prove that............
April 14, 200719 yr I agree that they deserve a lot more, an apology would be a nice start though. They got one from Nifong. I'm guessing , though, its a lot of "too little, too late."

What is your point in regards to this thread?
April 14, 200719 yr and the fact that black people are complaining because they are not the majority in baseball are 2 strong cases to prove that............ What?
April 14, 200719 yr Author They got one from Nifong. I'm guessing , though, its a lot of "too little, too late."Yeah, I'd agree with that. But it is a start, there are a lot of others that need to do so in this case.
April 14, 200719 yr Yeah, I'd agree with that. But it is a start, there are a lot of others that need to do so in this case. My point is this: It may make you and I feel better but IMO it will NOT make these 3 and their families feel any better.
April 14, 200719 yr Author My point is this: It may make you and I feel better but IMO it will NOT make these 3 and their families feel any better.I understand your point but only half agree. I think it will help heal some wounds, especially after the horrible things that were said about them. But the emotional and psychological damage that has been done may never heal. I just think the gesture needs to be made.
April 14, 200719 yr My point is...who is going to have the hardest time dealing with this the rest of their lives..mentally and financially..an apology is hardly enough in either case, but really..think about it..which group is still going to be dealing with this 20 years from now??
April 14, 200719 yr What? Have you not watched Sportscenter? It goes from Imus to the fact that the % of blacks in MLB is at 17%, down about 30% in the 70's and 80's.
April 14, 200719 yr Have you not watched Sportscenter? It goes from Imus to the fact that the % of blacks in MLB is at 17%, down about 30% in the 70's and 80's. That's a far cry from "them" complaining that they're not the majority.
April 14, 200719 yr None of the above matters. There is no legal process these girls can go through. However, the boys on the other hand have that process and , most likely, will pursue that option. That's my poiint. They don't need anyone to stand up for them. They've got the justice system on their side as far as a way to fight back. The girls do not so people feel the need to stand up for them. Imus got fired. Nifong will suffer professionally as well. What am I missing? What real legal opitons do they have? From what I understand not many.
April 14, 200719 yr You and I and everyone else are what causes a story to be blown out of proportion. The media gives us what we want, right? I'm not sure of that last sentence 81. My guess is that the producers of a lot of news shows have their own "view" of what is news and what we want. And I do think it would be good if Jackson and Sharpeton went on national tv and made a sincere apology to the lacrosse players for some of the things those two said about the players. Then again, I pay zero attention to what those baffoons say anyway, so maybe it wouldn't help things at all. My way of dealing with them is knowing that one day, they will each have to face their Maker and have to justify how they conducted their lives and their actions. Reverends my foot. Hate mongers for personal financial gain is more appropriate.
April 14, 200719 yr JD If U Please]Have you not watched Sportscenter? It goes from Imus to the fact that the % of blacks in MLB is at 17%, down about 30% in the 70's and 80's. Maybe a little off topic , but just out of curiousity I'm going to guess that the % of whites has dropped also and that the % of hispanic players has risen greatly.
