Goliath Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Interesting report on Rivals earlier today, here's what some of the article mentioned: "There have been some significant developments in the recruitment of four-star prospect Jai Lucas in recent days. A couple schools are making a serious push to land the 5-foot-10, 160-pound point guard from Bellaire (Texas) High School in what could be developing into a head-to-head showdown between SEC rivals. Coach Billy Donovan stayed at Florida and point guard Taurean Green declared for the draft, so Florida immediately became a significant player in the Lucas recruitment. Kentucky, whom Lucas has had in his top four for the longest time, hired Coach Billy Gillispie, and the former Texas A&M coach has been in Houston making a stretch run sales pitch to Lucas. "Billy has been down here the last couple days working on Jai," Lucas' father John Lucas told Rivals.com. "It went really well. They are going to give the ball to Jai from day one, and Billy said he was going to get some players." This Saturday Lucas will travel to Gainesville, Fla., for his final official visit to meet with the Florida staff and tour the campus. What are the chances Billy G brings both to Lex? http://kentucky.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=662140

Maryland, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are also on Lucas' school list, but it appears that the threesome is losing ground to Kentucky and Florida. On Wednesday of next week, Lucas will meet up with friend Patrick Patterson in route to New York for the Jordan Brand All Star game. Don't be surprised if the twosome does end up playing together in college after all. Except now, the two prospects share two schools on their lists and not just Kentucky." What are the chances Billy G brings both to Lex? I'm afraid they might end up at FL.
UKPat02 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 What are the chances Billy D brings both of them to Florida?
BigBlueFreak Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 This will depend on how he sells himself and his game to Patterson. Any word on that yet? Billy G that is.
Log Mountain Boy Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I think its a 2 horse race with UK and Florida. It will be interesting to see where they land. I think Lucas is favoring UK and Patterson is favoring Florida. If they decide to play together it will be interesting what they decide.
UKPat02 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 If it really is a horse race, shouldn't we expect Kentucky to win?
MountainThunder Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 If it really is a horse race, shouldn't we expect Kentucky to win? I hope that is a good sign!!!
Son of Bear Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 You know Donovan is going to pull out all the stops to impress Jai on his visit............
saint4 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I say that UK has a good chance to land both because here they will both probably start, at Florida, they might not even play at all with the great recruits that Florida is bringing in.
crimedoc Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 His last official visit to sunny FL might seal the deal on the whole thing.
Hangman Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 I say that UK has a good chance to land both because here they will both probably start, at Florida, they might not even play at all with the great recruits that Florida is bringing in. They would most definitely play... Probably start.
SouthernSportsFan Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Jai will be at Kentucky. No question about it.
Hip-Hop Box Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Why do I have that feelin they're going to UF now...
