May 27, 200719 yr Author Doubleday? Nice. Going the personal attack route. You, along with others here and elsewhere, continue to look for a loss to loss reason to bash Narron. Tonight it's the 129 pitch start. Arroyo had yet to give up more than 4 runs in a start this season before the last two and then he gave up 4 first inning runs in each of the last two. 11 starts with only 4 not considered quality. And he only has two wins. That's not on Narron. Quit looking at the easiest talking point to blame...
May 27, 200719 yr 120 pitches is not a lot for a MLB pitcher. They throw 12 months out of the year... Again, Narron is nothing but a scapegoat and will be until he's fired...

Might as well fire him, and bring in Bucky. Let the team improve and he gets extended for "fixing" it. Rinse. Repeat. Yippie. Maybe at some point every guy on the 25 and even 40 man roster will be held accountable by Reds fans. It's a lot deper than the 1 or 2 talking point players and Narron...

May 27, 200719 yr Author He is the worst manager in the MLB.....But I guess you get what you pay for. The best manager in MLB doesn't get what has happened here close to .500...
May 27, 200719 yr The best manager in MLB doesn't get what has happened here close to .500... Never said otherwise.....I'm not saying they replace him and they'll all of a sudden be a playoff contender, but that he has IMO cost them 4-5 games this season, and that he has zero respect from the players in the clubhouse. The ship has sunk, and the fans want something to be done. The easiest and most obvious choice is Narron.
May 27, 200719 yr I purposely made a point earlier in the week to ask if anyone thought that Narron has cost them 5 games. At least one person responded with a YES! So, 23-27 would make everyone happy? Why don't I believe that... Firing someone for losing 4-5 games a year is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Should we fire every pitcher that loses 4-5...UNBELIEVABLE!!!
May 27, 200719 yr I think this is a 500 team with a different manager. No way this team doesn't have the talent to win AT LEAST 81 games. I know Narron isn't the one playing awful defense and it's not his fault the bullpen struggles. But he has to shoulder as much blame as anyone else.

It's getting old dealing with a team that does nothing but lose. With that being said, 23-27 is about the record their talent level should bring. They would be doing what was expected IMO.

When you aren't stepping onto the field to contribute yeah, that is a problem. Also he's cost them 4-5 games thus far, you have to figure there's another 5-10 the remaining 2/3 of the year....

Underachieving by 5 games and you're calling for the managers head...tell me that sounds as ridiculous to you as it does to me...

May 27, 200719 yr Underachieving by 5 games and you're calling for the managers head...tell me that sounds as ridiculous to you as it does to me... Once again, that's after 50 games....That comes out to around 15 games of underachieving over the course of the entire year. The guy has lost all respect from the fans and clubhouse. Something needs to be done. When a team underachieves, I don't care how much by, a change should be made. Whether that be managment, coaches, or players is up to the owner....

You bring up a good point. Your expectations are unrealistic for someone that does NOT step on the field...

It was a .500 team last year with the same manager. It's all about the guys on the field getting it done. Right now they aren't, and in the worst way. Everyone is frustrated, and it's now a daily thing to find why the guy should be fired TONIGHT. Over and over. Is this a UK thread 6 months ago???
