March 31, 200719 yr Say what you will, but in all truthfullness West Virginia should have been in the NCAA tournament way before Kentucky should have, and with Belein only having two players that were considered in the top 100 in their recruiting classes makes it even more impressive. You can have all of your Mayo's and the Mickie Dees. I want to see players putting it all on the line every second of every game and play within a team concept. Kentucky got in this year ahead of some other teams by the simple fact that they are Kentucky, and some of the others just simply were not Kentucky. Belein, in my opinion, would be a steal. I dont think you can say that at all now. Kentucky proved they should have been in by winning their first round game. Now there are other teams that West Virginia should have been in over. Say like Arkansas for an example...

March 31, 200719 yr I'm sure the UK fan base would be just thrilled with MAC level recruits that rely too much on the 3 and are charmin soft on defense. He's a good coach, but he's far from elite...

March 31, 200719 yr They definitely deserved to be in the tourney this year and JB is a great motivator. He may not get the biggest name recruits but he is a great judge of talent and I'd say that WVU did pretty well this year considering how young they are. They did beat UCLA with 8 freshman on the team...

Are you still hung up on UK getting in the tournament? You need to get over it. 2. The fact that he only has 2 players in the Top 100 says enough about his recruiting... 3. Classy guy, but as GT said, far from elite. Kentucky is elite.
March 31, 200719 yr 3. Classy guy, but as GT said, far from elite. Kentucky is elite.I wouldn't say far from eilte. Kentucky was elite.

This is one point I disagree with you on. WVU is the way they are because they have no ther choice. He gets the people that will come to Morgantown, and I'm sure you've been there and no how bad that place is. Great party school but not much else. The football team has had success in making stars out of kids no one else really wanted...... JB would be my 2nd choice for UK
March 31, 200719 yr GT, why do you hate WVU with so much passion? I think he graduated from Marshall:cool:
March 31, 200719 yr I think he graduated from Marshall:cool: YES, I DO remember him saying that somewhere...His bias is clearly showing in this thread
March 31, 200719 yr This guy would be a steal if Donovan didn't go. I think he can recruit if he was at a place like UK, I heard his pitch to Pattersons mom and I was impressed. I think he is a great coach that is really smart and I think he would do good at UK. IMO I have watched UK and WVU both alot seing that Im on the border, and I honestly think WVU was better than UK and they had by far less talent. I mean their schedule was no were near as hard but they beat UCLA, given without UCLA guard and in the tourney took a very godo and hot Louisville team in overtime.
