Coach Campbell is a great guy and has been around basketball for a long time. Just don't know if he is ready to take a job as a first year coach in such a high profile job, with all the pressure that will be put on him to win. He is too nice of a guy to get put in this kind of situation, if I were him, I would stick to the assistant role or go get one of the other lower profile jobs open in the region to get some head coaching experience before he takes on this monster of a job! Just my opinion. That and .50 will get you a coffee at McD's.

 

 

I think that if Coach Campbell wants it, he deserves the shot. If anyone know the ins and outs of that job, it is the man that has been Coach Holland's right hand for several years now. He has been a loyal employee and is very well liked by both the administration, the players and the general public.

 

The PCC job is one of the most high pressure coaching situations in the mountains and will be a rough one for anyone that is trying to fill Coach Holland's shoes ( which is not 100% that he is leaving BTW ). I feel Coach Campbell has proven himself and if he feels up to it, he should be given the chance to either succeed or fail.

From what I usderstand it will be a short wait. That's unfortunant. I think Whitaker has done a good job.

It's true that Bell has not been able to win the region during his watch, but how long has it been since Bell's football team has played in the state championship? Winning the region in basketball is pretty much equivalent to making the finals in your class in football.............and I don't see anyone calling for Coach Hilton's head.

Whitaker doesnt exactly have the electric personality that Dudley does. I think that is one of his biggest downfalls. He isnt what many would call a "likeable" guy. He has had his team right there in the thick of things every year, and any year that any coach gets some kind of coach of the year award like Whitaker got at the sweet16 this year, its hard to justify getting rid of a guy.

I would disagree with you there. I believe winning your region in football and going to the final 4 is the equivalent of winning a region in basketball. Hilton has done that since he has been back. Also he has been back at Bell County 4 less years than Whitaker has been at Bell.

Also to even mention Coach Hilton getting fired is ridiculous. He is considered 1 of the best ever!!

I've heard that John Noble from Buckhorn might be in the mix. He is a quality coach that has helped to build Buckhorn back into a quality program.

Holland is one of the best coaches in the mountains...any team would be lucky to get him!!!
