I was thinking the same thing about Mr. Cooper. In my eyes, that would be the only possible way for them to obtain that amount of money.

I would disagree with you there. I believe winning your region in football and going to the final 4 is the equivalent of winning a region in basketball. Hilton has done that since he has been back. Also he has been back at Bell County 4 less years than Whitaker has been at Bell.

Also to even mention Coach Hilton getting fired is ridiculous. He is considered 1 of the best ever!!

 

I agree that it would be ridiculous, as would be getting rid of Whitaker.

Not to take anything away from big Al who has done a good job ,but wouldn't there be several guys who could be great coaches if they were paid $80000 a year to coach basketball at the high school level and not teach a class? Just my opinion

If I were him I would rather be at one of the top schools in the mountains. He played on a state champion in Dilce Combs in 93 and back then almost everyone was an All A school. He played college ball and was an assistant at Thomas More for two years. He was an assistant under Bill Fannin for a year at Hazard and now has been with Coach Holland for at least five years. I think the world of Holland and I think he would be the first to tell you that Campbell should be given the shot. But that is just my .50 worth too

As an assistant at Thomas More he was under Terry Connor (!?) Although the one year he was an assistant they led the nation in scoring but the assistant was running the offense and not Coach Connor (I think Cider???? former Brossart coach) Anyway my point is he wouldn't have learned much under Coach Connor however he is a tireless worker and deserves the chance.
