March 27, 200719 yr Izzo Crean Gillespie Barnes Few Wright Says there is no chance, based on conversations with Billy himself, his wife, and his dad that he takes the UK job. He also said that he wishes UK fans would realize that the world does not revolve around Lexington. Pretty harsh words, but this is what he said. On ESPN radio.

I love it when Katz is wrong!
March 27, 200719 yr This whole fiasco is turning into the a circus, when all said and done this might go down as the biggest coaching search in the history of sports.
March 27, 200719 yr He also said that he wishes UK fans would realize that the world does not revolve around Lexington. He's obviously in denial.
March 27, 200719 yr Says there is no chance, based on conversations with Billy himself, his wife, and his dad that he takes the UK job. So while Billy won't say anything to anyone regarding the job, we're supposed to believe he and Katz have had a heart to heart about it?
March 27, 200719 yr Katz is completely full of it. The fact that he said there is no chance that Donovan comes to UK makes me believe it is more possible. That is the same list of candidates that has been there from the start. I heard the interview and about the only parts I think he had right are " some UK fans think the world revolves around Lexington" and "Gillespie has not agreed to anything with Arkansas". Actually I still believe Gillespie is the more likely candidate for the UK job. At least I hope he is.
March 27, 200719 yr Is it just me is there anybody else out there that thinks NONE of these guys will be an upgrade.
March 27, 200719 yr Author So while Billy won't say anything to anyone regarding the job, we're supposed to believe he and Katz have had a heart to heart about it?Don't blame the messenger.
March 27, 200719 yr Don't blame the messenger. Not doing that, just think Katz is full of it (and himself).
March 27, 200719 yr A. Izzo B. Crean C. Gillespie D. Barnes E. Few F. Wright A. Like Tom, however, his style is very similar to Tubby's and that rubbed a lot of UK fans the wrong way. Plus, not sure he's leaving E. Lansing any time soon. B. Joke. C. Probably going to Arkansas. D. You have to be kidding? E. Could absolutely not handle the bright lights of Lexington. Nor, I'm quite sure, would he want to. F. Of the list, the one I've thought made the most sense since Day 1. Actually before Day 1, to be honest. ==================================== FBALL -- I completely agree.
March 27, 200719 yr Katz thinks more of his own opinion than anyone else. He continually throws out enough theories that one of them will end up being at least close to right. He is right about some UK fans but for the most part he is not someone I would bank on.

I love Izzo and would like him to be here, but too many are so critical of style of play. FWIW, I think his "style of play" is more deliberate(critics read:slower) than that of Tubby.
March 27, 200719 yr Author Katz thinks more of his own opinion than anyone else. He continually throws out enough theories that one of them will end up being at least close to right. He is right about some UK fans but for the most part he is not someone I would bank on. Everyone keeps talking about how Katz is always wrong. What has he been wrong about?
