March 27, 200719 yr Everyone keeps talking about how Katz is always wrong. What has he been wrong about? Most recently Tubby to Michigan. That was a theory he threw out on the airwaves of ESPN radio as soon as the Michigan job came open. It was nothing but a guess on his part and if it happened he could say " I said so ". Instead Tubby goes to Minn and nobody saw that coming. He does get it right sometime but that is only due to the amount of scenarios he puts out. I could sit hear and say that every one of these guys mentioned will be the UK coach and when one is chosen claim I was correct. Katz is the boy that cried Wolf.

There is a difference between saying he is going to Michigan and saying he would be a good fit there. Which is what he said. If Andy says he talked to Billy, I'd believe him.

But he didn't leave it at "I think it would be a good fit". He almost gaurenteed it and then ran with it all over the ESPN networks. He loves to make his opinion a story. Right, wrong or anywhere in between. I don't believe he has anymore insight into what Donovan or any of these guys are going to do anymore than anyone else. It doesn't appear that Donovan or his family are letting anything out right now. If he did talk to them I doubt they said anything substantial. Either way we will all find out in due time.

So do I but as much as I dislike Katz he does make a good point in that a coach would have to think long and hard before subjecting themselves to all the undue critisizm and scrutiny that goes along with the U.K. basketball job. These kind on "no clue" call in shows and message boards/new media wears on family members and effects them as well. I agree that Katz is a "legend in his own mind" and is as arrogant as they come but he did make a point on how Tubby had told him how evertyhing (personal attactcks.etc..) was really effecting his wife's health and that was a big factor in Tubby's decision. Imo the very ones (bashers) that say that they love U.K. basketball and want the best for U.k. are the very ones that are amoung other outlets are adding to certain coaching prospects from wanting the job. JMO. People say that I am crazy in saying this and I may be. All I have said and will continue to is Negativity breeds Negativity and Nothing good can possibly come from peope that are what I call "self proclaimed" experts from openming their mouth and removing all doubt what most everyone already thinks...............That they know abbsolutely nothing! Not calling anyone inpaticulkar out here but if the shoe fits :sssh: :sssh: .
