Who wins next year?

Featured Replies

Elliott County will be good having 5 juniors and a freshman as their legit top 6, it will be very difficult to make it out of the 16th two years in a row. However they will be very competitive and should be a force the next two years. Good luck to Elliott County! It was fun watching them play this week.

I thought it was unique that the 5 starters' numbers were 1-2-3-4-5.

I agree, it was fun watching them. They are a good team. They are not 4a, so they wont win it. Sound harsh, go check the guru's last thread!

everybody is saying Station but dont they lose Jaron Jones and Stephon Lewis . I think tose are 2 big shoes to fill. I think they will be good but not as good as this year.

I agree, thats alot of scoring that has to be made up and those two took care of some things on the other end of the floor too!!

Mason and Scott Co will be contenders. Don't count out Bryan Station. If Henry Clay develops a point guard they could contend. Elliott Co will be world beaters in the 15th and 15th regions but I don't see them sweeping the state.

I agree with you again. Henry clays problem the last two years has been @ the pg. If someone can step up and get Moses and Boyd the ball it could be trouble not for the 11th region but for the whole state

I was going to say either Mason or Scott County. I think Elliott's best shot is the following year.

Rebuilding I see as the main thing for Deming, they will have to find someone to step up as we lost Travis Massey and Billy Graves.

Returning, The King Twins, Jarod White, Nathan Mitchell, Caleb Curtis, Garth Grause, Darius Workman, Rex Schalch.

I think Coach Johnson has a pretty good nucleus to work with, but unless there's something on the QT regarding the King Twins(I don't think there is but rumors are still up in the air), should be interesting season.

I think they have some big shoes to fill with the seniors that graduate this year from Mason Co.

They lose very little offense and Mason always defends well no matter who is on the floor. They do lose some strength though with Browning and Pawsat, but I believe they will recover nicely with Tolle and King most likely seeing more PT. All they really lack at this point for next year is a PG. To me Middleton is better suited at the 2 guard. And lets not forget Miller and Setty will be more experienced. Not to mention Setty's brother will be a Freshman and I hear he's the real deal.

Mason Countys starting 5 will be as good as anybodys with a stud player in the middle of it in Miller.Yes the Royals could be a top 3 team but they must show they have the bench to fill in 1st.The bench players will be inexperinced but very good. They really need to be able to go 8 deep and still be strong 1st.Look for a couple Freshman to play some minutes next year in Treg Setty and Jordan Gilbert possibly even Neal Pawsat.Treg is the real deal and will impress people with his shooting and size for his age.Should be another fun year in Maysville and lets not forget we have all summer to go also which i have seen players flourish before over that time and you also just never know if anybody new moves into the school District as with Scott County were growing very quickly here in Maysville.

Who does the rest of the teams return with like Augusta, Bracken County? I know St.Pat returns Anderson and Owens. Mason County will be the horses to run away with the 39th distrsct.

I honestly believe Mason will run away with the 10th next year also.I said all year this past year GRC was the 1 team that had a real shot to knock them off and they did.

We are talking about State Title contenders here.

Scott Co. Will repeat if all the underclassmen stay. They usually get one of two new kids who transfer in as well who can play.

I've heard Billy Donovan has a son who can really fill it up! There are some nice places here in Scott Co. with easy access to campus!

I heard a rumor that then twins were going to Mason Co.

When your in the 11th you think about winning the region before trying to win state. For Scott Co its lets get out of district. They took one game at a time and overlooked no one. They do lose Walls and that is hit on anyones team. Warren I feel can be replaced. They will tough and most likely the favorite again next year. Billy Hicks can tell you winning the Sweet 16 was far from his mind before the first game of the district. If Lexington Catholic finds a point gaurd as well Henry Clay as another poster comented on. They both will be tough for anyone to handle. Catholic still lacks the athleticism of the old days and the quickness. Basketball in Fayette co has changed the last four years and all the teams are getting much better. You will not see schools lose their kids to Lex Cath anymore. Middle schools are allowed to play other schools out of the county. Middle school kids get in another 12 games at the KBA before their season starts in January. Local AAU teams have flourished because of the good coaches and feeder systms working together. There are at least a good five teams in the 11th region that can make some noise in the state every year and three teams that could surprise you.
