Even though he is a Wildcat supporter, Coach Wolfe has gone on record that ND has done by far the best job recruiting Newman. You can read his postings. In addition Brandon has formed an excellent relationship with three of the new Irish recruits, and both he and his mother are staying at Braxton Cave's house during this unofficial visit, the third one he has taken at his own cost within the past few months.

 

I'm totally convinced that Charlie Weis and Corwin Brown have won the hearts of both Brandon and Coach Wolfe, and that the young man will be IRISH! :ylsuper:

For those that might not know, Cave was the 1st commitment that Coach Weis received not named Golic this season. He seems to be gaining a reputation as being every bit of a hard worker at recruiting as the Notre Dame coaching staff.

 

I think most of those who follow Notre Dame recruiting as expecting a commitment from Newman this weekend or very soon after. IMO it would be a bad sign for the Irish if Newman has not committed by the end of next week. He should know all that there is to know about Notre Dame by now.

Newman verballed to Notre Dame today.

He will be a Cat, it's all over but the signing. UK was first to offer, he loves the staff and is great friends with Cory Peters and his coach is a huge UK fan. Joker has done a great job recruiting him!

So much for that theory.

Newman already had scholarship offers from Louisville, Kentucky, Mississippi, Stanford, Cincinnati, Indiana and several others.

 

The unofficial visit this weekend by Newman, his parents and PRP coach Chris Wolfe was his third trip to the campus in less than two months.
