March 17, 200719 yr Very solid performance against a pretty good team. Morris played well and Thomas had his best game as a Wildcat, IMO. It will take the same type performance against Kansas to have a chance. HIT YOUR FREETHROWS. At this level it should be almost like a layup to these guys. Why do we struggle so badly?
March 17, 200719 yr Nova came into the game with a rep for being a solid offensive rebounding team. UK limited them to 10 and outboarded them 37-30 for the game whcih I thought was huge. Unlike some of our noted enthusists on here, I thought Morris would be a tough matchup for Nova, and he was 19 and 11. Nothing major but the fact that Nova could not guard him and resorted to fouling him allowed UK to avoid droughts on the offensive end. Simply put, Nova had nothing for him but fouls. Reynolds and Sumpter went for 23 and 19, but did it on 12 of 35 shooting. UK did a pretty good job containing Reynolds, and Sumpter couldn't quite get on track. Nardi obviously had a bad wheel but in the end, Nova took the pipe. Sheray Thomas had a nice game...hit the boards got some loose balls. All in all a nice win.

I rarely disagree with you, but I have to on this one... Morris was taking hard hits the entire game. The refs, for the most part, let A LOT of stuff go and made it well known early that the players were going to decide this one. Morris got his offense going early, and after that they doubled him and anytime it looked like he might be going to the hole, they hammered him hard. I saw no ticky-tack fouls for either side on this one, but I do think that Reynolds got robbed by a no call when Bradley stole the ball from him. He took a massive hit.

That when Morris was out on the perimeter and on the baseline bumping guards as they dribbled past him, there were no calls made...It's part of the game...At least the refs were consistent.

Are you serious? Hop-along Reynolds to the basket never got called for a travel once. Nova had nothing for the big fella tonight. Doubled him at every shot and played Hack-a-Shack with him. UK didn't shoot the ball well, but was in control the last 10 minutes.

As everybody knows, I really have no dog in this fight, as I don't care for either team. It was JMO that a few fouls that were called on Morris should have been let go, since they were letting other, similar plays go....IMO, anytime a post player is beyond the 3-point line and bumps a guard, he should be called for a foul...

Definitely agree on the Bradley tackle of Reynolds.....My dad and I both started yelling at Bradley for fouling an out of control player, and then realized we were in transition. That was a big time blown call. :thumb:
