March 11, 200719 yr So it looks like Duke may be a 8 seed this year.I haven't heard any Rumors about Coach K getting fired. Arizona looking like a 9 seed.No rumors of Lute Olson getting fired. Last I looked they are both white. Add UConn's Calhoun to that list. UK would have a national nightmare with the media if they fired Tubby. The national news services are going to print how he won a national title (minus any excuses about doing it with Rick's players), how he has has won multiple SEC conference AND tournament titles. How he has been to 3 Elite Eights and came within a cat's whisker of making it to 2 FF. How he rejuvinated programs at Tulsa and Georgia and took them both to the Sweet 16. That's the kind of stuff they're going to key on. Plus, you add the twists the director of the "Glory" movie exhibited...with the UK fans waving Confederate flags, (which didn't happen BTW), the Rupp racist slant, etc... and you have a huge national image and recruiting problem for Kentucky. UK can't fire Tubby, and they won't. He may resign someday. That's about it. But firing....no way.

March 11, 200719 yr I get tired of saying this. Give Tubby another year. He has earned it with his overall record at UK. Firing him now would just push the program back. If he struggles to another 12 loss season next year, then you look at other options. I am tired of the TB threads. :sleep: My logical side says he gets another year. Its possible he gets a good recruiting class this year and things begin to turn around. Another season like the past two though, and things get very interesting.

Another season like the past two though, and things get very interesting. Right now he is just a Brandon Wright type of player away from having a 26-4 record. That's how important recruiting is. It's my understanding that Reggie Hanson had Wright all but committed and then got lazy with his follow-up's with the kid, and UNC sneaked in and stoled him from the Cats while the assisants were asleep at the wheel. I would be 100% for cleaning house in the assistant coaches' department.

March 11, 200719 yr Dude, Duke won back-to-back titles in the early 90s....Coach K was the coach then....Not sure where you got the numbers, but I'm not sure they are 100% accurate. I said the stats were since Tubby took over at UK and unless Duke and UK's websites are incorrect, the stats are right.
March 11, 200719 yr UK Basketball is alot bigger than Tubby Smith. The SEC tourney used to be called the UKIT now we can not even get close. Catlanta LOL not any more. I was just there yesterday, trust me Catlanta is alive a well. A sea of blue descended upon the ATL, disappointing that they didn't make the weekend but the support was still there.
