March 10, 200719 yr It doesn't matter who coached UK now nobody would be satisfied with what they did. Adolph Rupp was one of the most successful coaches in NCAA history but even he had a .500 season 13-13 (1966-67) and the next year he led the Wildcats to a record of 22-5. The rough season didn't drive UK fans to lose all hope in him and point out every flaw in his years following that .500 season. Tubby has had trouble these last few years but your bound to have one sometime. I'm tired of hearing everyone complain about Tubby. If you don't like the program root for someone else.
March 10, 200719 yr To the last 3 I put up I would say yes. Since 1999 Duke 3 FF 1 R/U 1 Champ NC 2FF 1 Champ 199-96 Over 3 coaches 1 of which was let go after 2 FF's
March 10, 200719 yr So it looks like Duke may be a 8 seed this year.I haven't heard any Rumors about Coach K getting fired. Arizona looking like a 9 seed.No rumors of Lute Olson getting fired. Last I looked they are both white. Last I looked THEY BUILT THEIR OWN PROGRAMS
March 10, 200719 yr Last I looked THEY BUILT THEIR OWN PROGRAMS So their past, thier body of work means more than one or two bad seasons?
March 10, 200719 yr Please explain this to me. Tubby can fix in less than 5 years the mess he has made in he past 10 or since he title? So you are saying the last ten years have been a mess except for 98?

March 11, 200719 yr I think TWELVE LOSS TUBBY is a great coach... The only problem is you can't win the SEC or the National Championship with mid-major talent. TUBBY CAN'T RECRUIT........end of story. This is why the man needs to go bye bye.. He has had long enough to get it done but he just can't...
March 11, 200719 yr If it is, 99% of college basketball would love to be in that mess. Yes you are 100% correct in saying 99% would love that record. There are 317 D-1 basketball schools. Then there are Duke, UK, North Carolina, and UCLA as far as the elite. As a person who knows a little UK basketball history the team is judged according to its past performance as well as what it is doing in relation to those 3 programs. You are UK not 99% of the rest of college basketball.
March 11, 200719 yr It's amazing. No matter how much we moan and groan when another TB thread appears, it never fails to spark argument and end up at 50+ posts.
March 11, 200719 yr 100 times worse. I almost hope it happens so all you people that hate Tubby sees what it does to this program. Same here....It would be quite funny to come on here over the 2-3 years while the Cats would be struggling to finish .500, and see how happy they are then.

How many Final Fours did the cats go to between 79-95? two! one in 84 and one in 93,nine years apart. So is the history you are referring to The Pitinio years?

March 11, 200719 yr I get tired of saying this. Give Tubby another year. He has earned it with his overall record at UK. Firing him now would just push the program back. If he struggles to another 12 loss season next year, then you look at other options. I am tired of the TB threads.
