Well done East.

Coach Daniels makes another early exit with a team that should have gone farther. Martin is a good point player, Daniels a great scorer and with a 6-7 pivot man in this region, they should have been contenders.

6'8 Bogeyman, and you are absolutely right should have been contenders. I like to use the word GEL or lack thereof to describe that bunch. It just seems that there was nobody willing to step up and help their big gun maybe because he is the coach's kid or whatever, either way the kid can play. Let this be the lesson to young people. Recognize who the guns are and fill the roles around those weapons and success is for the taking.

East Carter was my "sleeper" pick coming into this tournament. Now I don't expect them to win it, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them beat Ashland. I know Ashland beat them by darn near 20 earlier, but I wouldn't consider it a major upset at all if they won.

This one was a surprise to me. Rowan was inconsistent all year, never winning more than three straight, but I still thought they would beat East; especially after putting up 80+ against Bath in the districts.

Congrats to the Raiders. I sure am glad Coach Daniel was willing to take his chances with East Carter. Good luck against Ashland in the semis.

The disappointment continues in Rowan.

Burge played tremendously last night. He got a little excited there towards the end, but all in all was the MVP. Another thing, East Carter has some young guns getting alot of minutes. Kyle Bair (sp) and Tyler Jackson along the amazing athleticism of drew johnson will be a nice little 1-2-3 punch next year. Also add Colt Barnhill who is growing every day... I cant wait.

I thought for sure rowan would of made the trip to rupp with Matt Daniels, Matt Martin and Blake Pedit all on the same page, and thats not like Daniels just to hit 5 shots. Way to pull it out East
