If they can avoid injuries, they may challenge for the playoffs in the National League. Course that wouldn't be saying much. So if they by some chance they get there, I can't see them beating one of the better teams. Mets, Dodgers to go to the World Series.

 

But at the least the Cubs are a train wreck that never gets old to watch.

My father being a life long Reds fan, I always tell him that the Reds may have the three World Series titles along with several appearances in the playoffs in the 70's. But the Cubs have actually been to the playoffs 2 times in the last 10 years. Granted they lost in historic fashion, but at least they manage to get to the post season every few years to give out false hope. : )

Good news and bad news out of camp yesterday. Prior went 1 1/3 giving up two runs and four hits, while only throwing 17 out of 39 strikes. Wood on the otherhand had a three up, three down inning notching a K to go with it.

 

The Cubs will be much better this season, but as a Cubs fan I have learned to acknowledge that no year is the year for the Cubs.

Cubs will finish 3rd or 4th in division, another disapointing season in the Windy City. And yes, the Reds will finish higher than Chicago in the Central...

Does Soriano strikeout or homer to start the season in Cincinnati? I'm going with the latter on a first pitch fastball.

They should be tough. I'm not a big believer in superstition, and I think the offense should be very good. If the pitching stays healthy you never know.

Zambrano guaranteed a World Series and a Cy Young for himself yesterday. They got the tools to do it, let's just hope they can stay healthy.
