Congratulations on a big win for East Carter. A hard loss for the Lady Rams, especially for the seniors. I'm sure that the Raceland seniors are so very disappointed now, but in time they will look back on what a great season this has been for them - an All "A" regional title and a district championship (over rival Russell) are definitely accomplishments to be proud of. I wish all of these girls the best of luck in life after high school. If they show the same determination in life as they do on the hardwood they will do just fine.

I know the Raceland girls are very disappointed, but like it has already been stated, they have nothing to hang their heads over. This senior group has been involved in defining Raceland girls basketball. During their time playing, they have contributed to a lot of firsts for Raceland. The first 20 win season, the first back-to-back regional semifinal appearances, first All 'A' regional title, first ever win over Russell, first district title, and I'm sure I've probably left out a few. While this season may have ended sooner than we all would have liked, the legacy of this season and this group of girls will live on.

I have been out of touch for a few days, heard Vanderhoff was hurt but I never did hear what or why, anyone?

GoRadio, I also think the Lady Rams tired out at the end. Some things are just not meant to be. Congrats to East on a hard fought win and good luck on down the stretch.

 

Trimble and staff are top notch. This season has been thrilling. Thank you for being so dedicated to our team.

 

Easterling pulled Paige aside immediately after the game to talk to her. It was such a kind gesture. He is a class act. Just before the bus left, one of Lady Raiders came and hugged Paige and Katelynd both. It was just so sweet.

 

 

 

To all of you in BGP land, thanks so much for all your support of the Lady Rams over this season. It has been so much fun chatting with each of you, debating with some, and meeting others.

 

To my girls: Wow, what a great adventure the past 4 years have been. Your dad and I have watched you grow as individuals and leaders, defining your roles on and off the basketball court. Your dedication to the sport and to your team is to be admired. You both have matured into fine young ladies who we are so very proud of. You have learned to handle the good times, and the bad, with class and dignity. You have grown by learning all the lessons we as parents hope that athletics will instill in you. Thank you both for all you have given to us and for allowing us to share this experience with you. Your futures are bright and full of promise.

 

Lady Rams, this team has been awesome. Be proud of your accomplishments and records this season. Hold them and each other close to your heart.

 

 

Great post. Coach Easterling is a class act. She knew, as well as the rest of us, that Paige was blaming herself and knew it was not her fault anymore then it was any other players fault who missed a shot in the game. In a game so close you always say if I would have just made one more shot, but the Lady Rams have nothing to be ashamed of. Paige and all the other seniors will soon look back on this season and see it for the great accomplishment that it was.

 

Congratulations to East Carter on a great team effort and a great win. Good luck in the rest of their season, and no matter what happens I am sure they to will look back on this season fondly.

 

Incognito, encourage Paige (and Katelyn) I know how she is feeling even if she is not showing it. You should be proud of your young ladies, they are great people and have learned a lot this year about how to succeed and how to lead. Invaluable education. I know they will succeed in what ever path they choose from hence forth.

Great game girls. We are so proud of you. You really came together with the lose of a teammate and played hard. You could never say enough about the Porter girls. They have been raised in the most dignified way that two girls can be raised. I know a family that has a daughter that loves those girls like they were her own. She coached them in another sport. She worried most of the night from what i was told if they were ok. I said the same to the football boys when they lost to Newport i understand you are hurting but look what you have accomplished. This years seniors have really added to putting Raceland sports on the map. We love you girls and we will be right there supporting softball and baseball for our Raceland Rams.

Wow, What a game! I just want to say that I have really enjoyed watching the Lady Rams these past few years and I'd like to congratulate them on all their accomplishments!!! I have really enjoyed getting to coach some of these ladies and I will really miss them in the community. However, A wise coach from a school we won't discuss once told me that if winning the state championship is the best day of your life then you have lived a sad life. I believe that!! It wasn't in the cards for them last night, but man what a ride they have had. I remember like yesterday the Paige Porter shot with assist from Katelynd to beat Boyd Co. in the 2004 Region. I also remember the Paige Porter shot from the corner to beat West Carter and me jumping over the rail at the Palace. Whitney's take over just last week to beat the Devils in the District Championship, Tasha hitting all those elbow jumpers to send them to the Regionals last season. Kylie Fannin's cross court laser pass to take the lead on Russell last week, and Katelynd's lockdown D in the All A. I'm sure the pain is great right now, but life will move you to bigger and better things,and you girls have started a SOLID FOUNDATION for the Lady Rams for years to come. Thank you so much for the memories, and for representing our school, community, and alumni so well!!!
