Time to leave this thread while it still has dignity... ;)

Need to start a "let's accept losing and do it with dignity" thread. Then everyone on the thread can tell each other it's ok...:thumb:

In the first half, UK played as well as they can, IMO, and Florida was not playing to their potential. UK still only managed a tie.

Florida is simply, undeniably better in every aspect.

With that said, the officiating was HORRENDOUS!

When the announcers call out the refs on 5 separate occasions in a single half with all the calls going against the same team, there's something going on.

When Noah talks back to officials and deserves a "T" but instead the officials interrupt Bradley's free throws to politely go ask Donovan to remove Noah, something is wrong. Especially when Donovan only subs Noah back in at the next dead ball. PITIFUL officiating.

with THAT said, the officials did not lose the game for the Cats, but they made sure UK did not get back in it.

In the update thread the talk was of the officiating. The fact is that UK had 19 fouls and UF had 15. Not exactly as lopsided as one would think. The stats that should have drawn everyone's attention was FG% (UF 62% UK 44%) and rebounds (UF 33 UK 19).

Officiating was very poor today, way too involved from the get go. The FG% for UF was the key to the game. Not many rebounds available when the opponent hits nearly 2/3rds of their shots.

Noah is right up there with T.O. and Rodman at getting under your skin. Noah will get his one day. Just a matter of time. I wish we still had Maglore or Martinez so Jakim could try to pull his "look at me, I am sooooo special" crap on them. I would guess if he likes his chest beat on, Maglore would have obliged him. :)

...

I can't wait for Noah to get to the NBA and try to pull that kinda stunt on someone like Ben Wallace. The kid is 100% classless.

Chuck Hayes wouldn't have let that fly. That's the problem with this UK team. The juniors play with zero heart.

The one thing I took away from this game is that I really hope and pray that Ramal Bradley transfers. He has gotta be my least favorite UK player ever. He has to be the stupidest player to ever play college basketball.

The one guy I wish UK had playing against Noah is Jamaal McGloire. Would love to see Noah try that stuff against him. It would get ugly quick, that guy was no nonsense with that kind of thing.

You didn't bet against the Cats did you?:sssh:

You were in the update thread, I'll let you read it again if you like... I wager with my head, not with my heart.

Florida owns us. They have better talent. They are a better team.

However, this is a Florida tema that has struggled down the stretch.

Their PBP man said he thinks UF's run from 27 down to 8 against Tennessee was when their fever finally broke...meaning they woke up from their snide.

Maybe they are getting ready for their run.

As for UK, a promising start offensively, but their defense was not so good in the first half. In the second hafl, UF ran a "conga" line to the rim. UK got simply destroyed on the boards.

Unfortunately, Tubby's gameplan was like he was in a game with South Carolina. There was no way UK could win with Morris on the bench. So 17 seconds into the second half Morris picks up his 3rd foul. 3rd not 5th...so he goes to the bench and UF extends their defense, UK turns it over, and lead shoots to 11 while Morris sits on the bench for close to 8 minutes. That is stupid. They go 6 miutes without a basket, but yet leave Thomas and Obrzut in.

Continually, OTS relies on experience over talent.

Morris comes in and we get lead to 7, he picks up his 4th and he goes to the bench from over the 8 minute mark to just over the 4 minute mark and the lead is right around 10.

Meeks didn't play as much as he should in the second half.

But the better team won...sure there were questionable calls, but Florida is better.

Is there a new rule in college basketball where an official will go tell a coach that their player is doing something unsportsmanlike and should be T'd but he will run over to the coach and tell him so he can take him out for a minute?

Florida is better. Bottom line.

The discussion better get back to the game or this thread will be closed and any other actions deemed necessary will be taken.

I'll nominate Parker or Caruth.

Excellent first half by Kentucky, unfortunately the 2nd half the Cats didn't have an answer for the Gators. Nice 1st half for Bobby Perry.

I think GT summed it up in a previous thread when he said; "This team just can't finish".

Kentucky has to put this game behind them. It is now a new season and everyone has the same record.

Very far from the truth.

It shows everytime the kid does his weird "antics" on the floor how much class he has. Never have seen the classy side of the guy....

How does being a high energy and emotional player qualify as classless? Personally I don't enjoy watching him either but that has nothing to do with his class. Did you not hear the story the announcers told about him during the game?
