Over the past 5-6 years Florida has LESS WINS than UK.

With Florida playing a consistently weaker schedule than UK's, Billy D has lost 8 games in 04-05, 11 games in the debacle of player's defective left and right on him in 03-04. His Florida teams have averaged 9.8 losses PER SEASON. That is right at that UNACCEPTABLE 10 losses per season mark for UK fans.

 

His teams have seen 2 first round NCAA exits and 3 2nd round exits. So in the last 6 years, last year was the ONLY year that Florida made it to the 2nd week of NCAA tournament. Seems like that is one of the complaints against Tubby.

 

Billy D would make an EXCELLENT coach at UK but to think his success would be MUCH different than TUBBY is a mistake.

How about looking at where both programs are as we speak...and who got them there...

Kentucky had a 3-year period of Elite 8, round of 32 and Elite 8 appearance with Tubby's players.

 

Florida is in a similar 2 year run with a great class.

 

Florida will crash back to earth after this group leaves.

 

Next year at this time, we will be discussing a double-digit Florida season and them being a bubble team.

First you say too many losses and Billy D's team WITH HIS RECRUITS have MORE losses than Tubby's. That is delusional?

 

Tubby's teams have had more success consistently in the NCAA tournament than Billy D's. That is delusional?

 

With the arguments THAT TBERS make, Billy D wins. National title. That is it. ONLY POINT HE WINS ON.

 

So all of your arguments about Billy D over Tubby is considered moot and wrong EXCEPT FOR A NATIONAL TITLE.

 

And for many months now TBERS have been pointing out that it is NOT ONLY about a NATIONAL TITLE. The evidence that TBERS keep referring to, says it is ONLY ABOUT NATIONAL TITLES.

 

Admit that and I am find with it. THink you are unrealistic but at least TBERS are being open and honest with their concerns and not trying to mask it behind claims that are not accurate.

 

AGAIN, I hope Billy D is the next UK coach but I will not expect him to do what he did last year all the time. AND it would be unacceptable to me that his teams flame out in the NCAA tournament as his teams consistently do.

I have said that it is time for Tubby to move on. How is that sticking with him?

 

My point is that Billy comes here and repeats a 6 year run that is marked with close to double digit loss seasons and first/second round losses in the tournament, the UK faithful will be calling for his head. And that is the run he had at Florida before he reached the summit last year.

 

He is about ready to embark on a similar run as early as this year. Florida and the way they are playing are poised to be the #2 team that loses in the first weekend this year. Wonder how they will tarnish Billy D's rep with the TBers?

People gave him credit, and pointed out that it wasn't players he brought in...then he went and proved the doubters right...no final 4s with his players, unranked and 25 losses coming in 2 seasons...no wins against ranked teams...all of this nonsense is very simple, undisputable facts...

Second, you can't add up the past five year's wins and come up with a trend. You have to take each year and look at the direction of the program. Like I said before, think of it as a graph. In what direction is the program going. If thought of in those terms the trend goes in UF/Billy D's favor, not UK/Tubby. Yes most of that trend is based on the last 2 years but with a couple more solid recruits next year at UK isn't looking much better.

I agree. Billy is getting some much love from UK fans mainly because he is enjoy his greatest success at Florida at the same time UK is going through one it's worse times. Just unlucky for OTS and lucky for Billy. I believe Florida next year will resort back to form. They will lose a ton off this team.
