I think both Lively and Banks are deserving coaches. I guess since it's so close, we may have to go with how far they go in the region! I think Powell will go further, but really depends on the draw I guess. Good luck to both.

I beleive that Coach Banks from Breathitt should be awarded this. Banks has taken a team that won 4 games last year i think to win 20 some. If that isnt deserving i dont know what is.

Everyone that knows anything about 14th region basketball knows that Powell couldnt play dead in a western last year and would be the same way this year if it wasnt for Coach Lively. He is the difference in the team. i have got to watch them play 2 times this season and seems like the attitude of the kids are totally different. Kids act the way they are all allowed to act and i think as far as class Lively has as much as anybody by watching the way his kids have changed. I think he will make noice come tour. time. Somebody will have to play to beat him.

IF you vote Brethitt you should probably vote for Kenneth Neace, former coach at JAckson City, if you watch them play they run much of the same stuff JC used to. Lively? Why, what has Powell done, the returned their whole team from last year and are senior heavy, if they have success next year then give him some nods for coach of the year. Noble has done a quality job at Buckhorn this year but it would be hard for me to vote for a guy that is not going to make it out of district. MY vote would go to AL Holland, one of his worst teams talent wise hes ever had and they are a definite contender. O yeah look at Breathitts schedule, its a joke looks like a JBS schedule from about two years ago. ANd playing that weak schedule will get them sent home early.

If Buckhorn makes it past PCC, I think John Noble should be considered.

I think the biggest upset was the Oswley and Lee game. Buckhorn has had some good wins this year where Oswley hasn't played well all season. And like I said from an earlier statement that I think that Coach Bank's and Coach Noble was the front runner's for the Coach of the Year and neither one has proven me wrong. I think Coach Bank's has been chosen as this year's 14th region allstar's Coach, and this is a great discision. Congrat's to Bank's and his Bobcat's on a great turnaround from last year.:thumb:

They returned almost everything with lots of talent. Buckhorn lost 4 seniors, three that were 4 year starters. Who would've thought that Buckhorn would have sent PCC home the way they did.

I agree, Parret from Owsley isnt up for the Coach of the year because his team had a down year, but on the other hand they are movin on. Coah Noble has had a above average team all year and pulled out some wins and after this win last night i'd say he's in th lead, unless Breathitt or maybe Powell can pull out the Regional Title, I'm going with Nobel.

I agree with Lightning that credit should go to the players for Breathitt who returned from last year, ready to take their game to the next level. I also think that a couple of the assistant coaches for this team should be applauded for the support they seem to provide at such a pivotal time for the players. IMO

I think I would go with Lewis Moris at Hazard. I think Hazard may have been the only team in the region that won a couple big games outside the mountains. Not a lot of mountain teams knock off teams like Madison Central these days.

 

My second choice would be Stepp at JBS.
