I would agree with this. Bobby is a legend. I like Durant and oden but they don't want to be in college. They are there to just play basketball they don't care about school or anything. They really are like NBA players on a tryout for a team.

The "0% Grad Rates" at UC were a huge part of building the APR so I'm well versed on the topic. A lot of it is now aimed at keeping teams above water as long as the player ends the school year in good standing before going pro. For a long time almost every player looking to the draft was done with school the minute the season ended. Truth be told, how could any of us blame them? They all have a multi-million dollar corporation built into their existence. Now teams are learning the APR and more kids are faced with finishing the school year while working on the draft or knowing they can hurt the team and coach that gave them a shot. It adds a very interesting new element into the game IMO...

Both are from the same mold. Well spoken and seem to understand the situation at hand. There are no quotes even close to questionable from either and they've had a lot of chances to insert foot in mouth. Both of these kids are rare to say the least...

I think Kevin Durant has a sweet set up. Go to class for 1 semester and just ball out an not go to class second semester and then off to the NBA for millions of dollars. Im jealous.

 

Yeah I know I would love to have his set up. If we wanted he could go to class for one semester, and just play ball the second semester. While in the mean time having pretty much every girl on campus wanting him, and knowing that he will have millions of dollars waiting for him in just a couple of months. It really cant get any better than that, unless you can have what Matt Leinart had his senior year...

Based on? It has been happening for years at every grade level, so this doesn't change much if anything at all. I don't see where he talks about the large number of kids that thought they were ready out of HS only to be passed on in the draft and be stuck in limbo. It will show that they need more time and give a kid a chance he would not have taken on his own. With the APR in place schools know the penalties for this behavior and it's being corrected. Sounds more like Bobby is upset because he knows he isn't going to land these players and will sit behind a major talent deficiency from the start...

Difference on having a player for 3 or 4 years and it happening and one year and it happening. I think his issue is that NBA had an image problem and dumped their problem onto the NCAA.

There were freshman doing the same last year. There were sophomores doing the same last year. Nothing has changed other than you add a few more freshman to the list while retaining a larger number that you didn't have because they declared and were not selected. Any coincidence Knight feels this way because Durant is now at Texas and next year Beasley is at K State? It's short sighted and more than a little whiney...
