Regardless of how good the coach is, some players are just flat out dumb. Unfortunately for UK, the entire Junior class falls under that generalization.

Crawford has been consistent in not showing up for games or being quiet until KY is in a huge hole.

When your starting backcourt hates each other so much so that they can't even stand to be around the other, there is not much the coach can do.

Maybe the kid had an improvement in attitude when he returned. Maybe he began to practice harder. Maybe he began to listen a little more and the coach rewarded him with some minutes.

 

Unless anyone was in practice we don't know what happened in practice when he returned.

Use numbers and base them on minutes. If a player plays the entire game vs. a few minutes they'll have better numbers.

 

The player usually plays more minutes because he has improved enough to do so... If a guy plays 5 minutes per game and just happens to score 2 points in that 5 minutes, that doesn't mean he's a 16 PPG scorer... Just means he happens to score 2 points in 5 minutes.

Wayne Turner had better numbers as a junior than he did as a senior. IF you don't believe me simply look at the assist to turnover ratio. Oh yeah I don't really believe that, but numbers are misleading.

Yes, Tubby does have more of a knack to play upperclassmen... A lot of teams do when they have them. But just from these past few years, it's obvious he doesn't care to start young guys.

Other than Eric Daniels I have not seen any player at KY get significantly better. I guess watching every game doesn't amount to anything, but 1 player in 10 years. The thing is you guys can only come up for arguements for 1 or 2 other guys and all of them played limited minutes as freshman and were productive.

When 2 recruiting classes were recruited for JV practice squad purposes you have to start underclassman.

He signed? I didn't think that was allowed until November of your SR year at the earliest. Learn something new every day. Only 13 of the top 50 in 08 have given a verbal at this point...

I guess Tubby is just a beast at recruiting immediate impact guys then...

 

You've got to concede one argument... Either the players learn/grow under him, or he's good at recruiting guys who can come in and have an immediate impact, because they were all really good players for UK.
