February 19, 200719 yr Author I guess all those USC kids are breathing a sigh of relief... If Carroll didn't jump at this opportunity do you think he'll ever go to the pros again? Who knows, maybe he wants to go pro somewhere other than California because if he does leave the college ranks, there are going to be a lot of upset people in Cali.
February 19, 200719 yr Chargers hire Turner as head coach http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/SD/10007735 Turner was 58-82-1 in head coaching stints with Washington and Oakland. He takes over a team that was an NFL-best 14-2 but melted down in losing its playoff opener.
February 19, 200719 yr If Carroll didn't jump at this opportunity do you think he'll ever go to the pros again? He's waiting for Los Angeles franchise to open up and become the first $10 Million per year coach.
February 19, 200719 yr Great news for the rest of the AFC... :thumb: I can't believe they hired Norv Turner. Other than his stint in Dallas, has he ever had anything above moderate success as a coordinator...no point in even mentioning his head coaching success, or lack of... It wouldn't surprise me if the Chargers miss the playoffs next year.
February 19, 200719 yr Norv Turner. What do you guys and gals think? I think someone fed Norv Turner rock Candy with a slingshot from 2 feet away when he was a kid. Hit him with a hot bag of nickels or something. Maybe he will bring back the Air Coryell dayz. I know LT is the man but I miss those early 80's offenses like the Chargers/Dolphins,etc.
February 20, 200719 yr I think they could have done a lot better. His career shows he has not been able to get the job done as a head coach. I was thankful Dallas went in a different direction.
