Had the privilege of meeting former Mayor Rudy Giuliani in person at the Kentucky Speedway while working at a fund raiser for Senator Jim Bunning. Mr. Giuliani was as gracious to my daughter as any person could be to a wide eyed young teenager girl, and personally signed her copy of the Time Magazine when he was the "Time man of the year".

 

You could hear a pin drop as he spoke of the events of 9-11 in New York City, and how the people of the City overcame differences to work together. Most in the crowd knew we were in the mist of a great American and one who could/would one day be the President of the United States. The only other time in my life that I was so impressed with someone, was when JFK came to Covington on a campaign tour and gave a speech.

 

BTW, Wednesday will be a wonderful day for me, as my Daughter will be going to the Court House to register to vote. I have tried to teach her that voting is not only her right, but also her responsibility and many a young man/woman has given up their life, so her can cast her first vote.

I chose McCain...if he slips through the primary he is the next President...

Glad to hear. Voters in the 18-25 years of age really have a low voting percentage, we need to encourage this group to learn about politics and to cast their vote. My hats off to you for educating you child in the importance of voting.

I would like to see a little explanation of where each candidate stands on the issues. I will not choose a candidate without being informed on where they stand on issues such as abortion rights, immigration, spending, military, etc. Do you have that information?

I'm not as fluent on the topic of politics as I was when I was younger (or as many of you), but from what little I know at this point I like Romney. I'm sure those of you more in the know can give me several reasons I shouldn't be.

I just took the Votematch quiz (thanks BF!) and ended with a 3-way tie between McCain, Sanford and Tommy Thompson, all at a 45% match to me. In other words, I don't agree with any of the candidates.
