I hate to say it but Burrow has lost his magic. Still a top tier QB but falling short too often in game wining situations. He needed that game winning drive today. Two weeks in a row where Burrow has not been able to get the win. I believe his last game winning TD drive was in 2024.

I agree and he is getting hit too much.

Jacksonville will be the best team the Bengals have faced this year. They need to clean up the mistakes to win this one.

And they didn't call the helmet to helmet on the second to last play of the half. A few years ago the defender would have been ejected from the game and now not even a flag.

I said it last week and got hammered, but here goes again, same old Bengals.

After four games this sure looks like another average Bengals team, ugh.

Watching the Raiders game, TD for the Raiders on a play that was all due to scheme. WR was wide open. Bengals don't seem to do that very often if at all. Zac the offensive genius doesn't show me that.

The Bengals are always heartbreakers. Bengals are cursed! Lol

I will also add that I was shocked to see Burrow miss that throw to wide open MG in the end zone. Uncharacteristic. Not sure if that was more on Burrow or MG.

Also, in the Chiefs Raiders game on a 3rd and 5 the Raiders brought all-out blitz, and Mahomes made the play and more times than not lately Burrow is just not making plays like that consistently.

From Lance:

Jaguars 22 Cincinnati Bengals 17

Facing 4th and 10 at the Jacksonville 21 with :56 left, Chase Brown caught a Joe Burrow pass and was tackled a half yard short of the Jaguars 12 yard line. Ball. Game.

The drive started from their 17 with 1:44 left, but without an injured Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Chase left with a concussion in the 2nd quarter (9:58) and didn’t return. Higgins was shaken up late.

On the drive, Mitch Tinsley had a 29-yard catch, Mike Gesicki 19-yards, and Dohnte Meyers 15-yards.

The Jaguars went up 22-10 w/ 6:35 remaining on a 25-yard TD run.

The Bengals cut it to 22-17 w/ 3:28 left.

That’s back-to-back defeats and a home loss to fall to 2-2.

2-0 already feels like months ago.

It was a hard to watch afternoon, with the teams combining for

24 penalties for 233 yards.

Offense: 428 passing, 23 rushing, 5-12 3rd D

Burrow 39-54, 428 yards, TD, 2 INT, rush TD, QB rating 86.0

-INT end half/hit releasing it = Jax TD drive

-3rd QT red zone INT at Jax 10 = Jax 0 points

Higgins: 11-157

Meyers: 7-82

Brown: 9 carries/10 yards, 11 catches/71

Gesicki: TD

Decision: Opening drive: 4th & 1, own 44, 8:13. Punted?

Defense: 323 yards, 212 passing, 111 rushing

Cook/Dugger inactive

End-zone confusion 7-yd TD pass

Battle miss 3rd & 18, after sack = 55-yd FG

Sack: Murphy, Mafe, Jenkins

Mafe all over

4th QT: 3rd & 8 at Jax 29 w//2:34 left: 15-yard TE catch.

TE Brenton Strange 7-95. Entered w/ 7 catches.

Special Teams:

McPherson 29-yd FG/21st row, ties S. Graham team record

Penalties: Bengals: 11-108, Jaguars 13-125

3 Fairchild penalties including, hold Perine 10-yd TD run = FG

10 1st H Jacksonville penalties? Took TD off board 2x.

Flow: Trailed 13-3 at halftime.

Another frustrating loss, and hard to know how to feel after this one. The defense had some very good moments, but once again tackling is an issue. Offensively Burrow had a horrible red zone interception, which he can't do. The other interception he was hit while throwing it, so can't put that on him really. Burrow honestly made some awesome plays today, including doing it at the end with his top 4 WRs on the depth chart entering this season out in Chase, Higgins, Yoshi, and Colbie out. Yet though couldn't make a play at the end to win it, after driving them down there.

This team has shown glimpses, and very easily could be 4 and 0 right now. However, they have also shown you can't quite trust them to make the plays at the end yet to win it.

They most likely will be without Chase and Higgins this week against Miami. Have to make sure you win this one and get to 3 and 2 going into the bye week and get healthy.

OK, let's start hammering again. What's the same? Burrow throwing 2 picks? Defense playing winning football but the Bengals lose? Defense completely shut down the other team's WR and still lose? Trevor Lawrence beating the Bengals for the first time in his career? The Bengals beat the Jags last year so that can't be same old. What's same old?

It's a loss but it sure doesn't feel like same old.

Miscommunication. Burrow thought Gesicki was going to cut to the middle.

The reason it was a TD was because of the holding.

Spin it however you want to make you feel better. Bottom line is it's another Bengals loss.

How long have these guys played together?

I believe Mike Gieski explained it best after the game. The position he was playing was the normal spot that Tee plays, so that route is a route that Tee normal would break off inside based off the coverage. While Mike thought he would keep it vertical.

Absolutely horrible timing to have that miscommunication for sure, because if they were on the same page its either a touchdown, or a catch at the 5 if he breaks it in like Burrow thought.

Unfortunately something like this can happen. Especially when you lose your top 2 WRs during the game, and you were already down your number 3 and 4 wrs in Yoshi and Colbi going into the game. So they were playing with the guy who was their 5th WR coming into the year, and Tinsley a WR that didn't even make the team this year. Which up until the drive ultimately stalled, it was very impressive how considering all that they drove the ball down field so quickly with no timeouts. At the end of the day though, they still needed to make that one more play, and failed to do it. Sometimes these things equal themselves out as the season goes on though, as teams start to win the close games they lost early.

How long have you been married? Ever have a miscommunication?
